So it depends on the setting and patient. Kids tend to have respiratory causes of cardiac arrest so the focus is more on airway management and positive pressure ventilation. Kids don’t generally code just out of nowhere like say a 90 year old might keel over. There’s usually a specific cause and if you can correct that cause they will rebound.
As for adults it’s about the setting. Outside of the hospital we should be teaching cpr only. Especially for lay people. It gets too complicated and they’re too stressed out to remember 30 and 2, 15 and 2. Plus most people have a reserve of air in their airway and lungs that gets circulated with compressions so focusing too much on trying to get breaths in causes too many delays and confusion.
Now for ems you can debate whether they should do cpr only with a non rebreather, a bls airway and bagging, a biad, or a definitive airway. It hugely depends on your protocols, provider availability, and who the patient is.
In hospital we are almost always going to secure the airway during a code to remove that from the equation. We have the resources and it can be done relatively quickly without the need to delay cpr for more than a pulse check in many cases.

So I’ve done lots of cpr. First off it’s kind of a misconception that you’ll break ribs from cpr. You are more likely to break cartilage than actually break bones and appropriate cpr isn’t going to break bones unless they’re the smallest most frail person and the individual doing cpr is going crazy doing compressions.
Even if you break ribs you’re probably not going to have a displaced rib fracture as there’s muscles and tissue holding those bones in place, it’s pretty rare to have ribs break so bad they risk puncturing organs and it usually involves catastrophic trauma, not what you get from cpr.

I’ll be honest I was kinda drunk when I watched it but even intoxicated I felt like it was a bit much. I definitely liked the first movie he made way more.

There’s just so many issues with the character showing up on the big screen. You have an omnipotent super hero that can show up on screen and is already stronger than every super hero in the mcu. She was immediately able to go toe to toe with thanos and while I think they handled it well she was effectively the deus ex machina ish for the film.
Then add in how they basically just rushed a movie out to get her relevant and caught up within the context of the infinity war saga. It felt rushed, she had the whole, ‘people don’t like the movie because they’re sexist’ rant, and it just didn’t end up mattering in the larger scheme of things.
Doing this movie was just building on an already lukewarm reception for the character and it arrives just as audiences have completely stopped giving a shit about box office super hero movies.
The mcu algorithm is dead in the water. You’re only finding real success with it when things are either super well done like Loki or if it’s abnormal enough that it’s new and refreshing like the waititi Thor movie (although love and thunder went too over the top and blew it).
They need to shelve superhero movies for a bit, then come back and focus on quality over quantity. I’m ok with the whole atmosphere if it’s done like Loki, but it’s clear that just trying to ram through as many movies as possible isn’t going to work anymore.

Definitely not what ‘woke’ is. Now these jerkoffs may be claiming these terms and doing what they want with them. But that’s not historically what the term means or is about.

It is. But only in so far as the content and scope of the game far surpasses anything a smaller developer could ever hope to accomplish. You may prefer one over the other, totally fine, but objectively speaking you get way more out of gta 5 content and scope wise than bg3.
As others point out gta online is a dumpster fire but it’s still massive and allows you to do endless amounts of things, racing, heists, owning property, running businesses, etc.

Well I wouldn’t say that exactly. GTA 5 had a huge budget and a huge team and it’s objectively a better product if you compare the two (which is only to say they’re both great games but the bigger budget game has and does more).
It’s a matter of the motivations of the developers and their financial backers. If your goal is to make an ok game that maximizes profit focused mechanics, most of these AAA developers are hitting the mark perfectly. If your focus is to make a good game like it seemed to be with the BG devs, they absolutely hit the mark and are being rewarded for it.
This is just a reminder to an industry that is trying to tell us that pay to win mechanics are the standard that they do not in fact get to dictate what those standards are. We do. If a game is shit people will abandon it even if you poured millions into that product. The recent battlefield game is a prime example of this. Even something as guaranteed as a new battlefield game isn’t enough to overcome a shitty leadership team emphasizing the wrong things. The community bailed on their product and they’ll never get them back. All those millions in guaranteed revenue are gone forever.
