What puts me off is the lack of games this generation. I’m not spending £700 on a console where the only worthwhile exclusive that isn’t already on PC is Astro Bot.
If that’s the best thing that Sony and Microsoft can give us after three years of releasing their current consoles, then we’re well and truly on the verge of another market crash.

This is actually a very good and nuanced reply.
We’re going through similar problems in Britain. There are a lot of people from deprived communities that suffered during the seventies (Winter of Discontent, high inflation), had their manufacturing/mining jobs and access to social housing dismantled under Margaret Thatcher during the eighties, were ignored by successive leaders (John Major, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown), then suffered through austerity at the hands of David Cameron.
Meanwhile, the media had been pushing tonnes of hatred towards immigrants and to nobody’s surprise, hate crimes against Muslims and Eastern Europeans have skyrocketed. Things are so bad that we voted to leave the European Union in 2016, voted in a corrupt Tory government that pulled us out of the bloc in 2020, and given the trend of our most recent election, it’s becoming increasingly likely that we are going to vote in a far-right government by 2029 or earlier.

Was not expecting to hear “shut the fuck up you fucking corporate bootlicking simp” from Louis Rossman of all people. He’s pissed and rightly so.
I’m generally pretty anti-piracy but it’s getting harder and harder to rationalize the act of paying for things through legitimate channels when customers are punished in the oh-so-many ways Rossman described. Disney think this is a “GOTCHA” moment that will absolve them of legal responsibility for someone’s death at one of their theme parks, but this is an absolute PR disaster for them.

It’s honesty pretty bleak to see companies like Electronic Arts and Activision consistently top the sales charts by releasing the same game every year.
Said this before on Reddit in the past, but there are lots of consumers who have no taste in video games whatsoever. They don’t give a shit about anything but FIFA/Madden, Call of Duty or Grand Theft Auto, and that is the reason why we have predatory shit like Ultimate Team and Shark Cards in $70 AAA titles.

Boo is the best dating app I’ve used outside of Facebook Dating. It’s still pretty shitty though, and I wholly agree with your criticism about the discussion threads.
Actually gamifying the use of their app as a social media platform to gain further privileges on the dating side of the app is a genius idea though, but it’s executed so poorly.
I could go on a massive rant about how Tinder is dogshit and every other dating app has been bought out and transformed into yet another Tinder clone by greedy monopolistic cunts who the Federal Trade Commission should have shut down years ago.
Maybe we wouldn’t have an incel epidemic if the modern dating experience wasn’t so awful for men.
Kippo is even more hilarious. Nearly every profile is just trying to recruit you to watch their E girl twitch stream or onlyfans and is not interested in dating.
Sounds like Okcupid to me. I get a lot of matches on there, but they’re all either:
- Scammers trying to lull me into a crypto investment scheme.
- E-girls using the platform to plug their OnlyFans
- African and South-East Asian ladies who discovered GPS spoofing and are on the prowl for a Western husband and the means to a green card.

The Sonic fandom continues to amaze me. For every mountain of lewd fan art and crappy original characters created by fans, you get an incredible fangame that absolutely trumps official efforts from Sega themselves.
Pulling off a kart racer in the Legacy DOOM engine of all things is a seriously impressive feat.

I see Robotnik as an entirely separate character to Eggman. The AOSTH/Mean Bean Machine character was a bumbling idiot, and Robotnik Prime from SATAM/Archie Comics was a brutal overlord.

MapleStory’s problems aren’t just the predatory MTX shit, which got so bad that they actually released a Reboot server that disabled a lot of this stuff, but just overall content bloat.
On top of the 5 core explorer classes (Magician, Thief, Warrior, Bowman and Pirate), there are Cygnus Knights versions of these classes, and 29 overpowered hero classes that are mostly based on the 5 aforementioned class groups
Big Bang streamlined the game excessively and ruined the overall flow of Victoria Island, making it vastly more linear. It also made Ossyria much higher levelled. Whereas for example you could probably survive in Aqua Road as a level 35, it now has a level 80 requirement. One of my characters is stuck near Ariant because they changed the second zone to be a 120 zone.
