- Comment on Good ear protection for concerts. 1 week ago:
I prefer a 20db cut that’s flat across frequencys. Most audio engineer plugs like the etymotic range aim for that midpoint.
If I’m chainsawing, it’s big muffling 30db cut earmuffs.
- Comment on Good ear protection for concerts. 1 week ago:
I’ve been using these for years for concerts, gym classes and always take spares to festivals to give to friends. They are designed for an even 20db cut when listening to music. They have the same fit as the cheaper ER20 but the xs have clearer top end.
I use them 3x a week and have a few pairs. They don’t last forever as the baffles get softer over time. At $40 they last me a year which is pretty good value.

- Comment on Out of curiosity if a woman is in control of her own body. If the SCOTUS did not reverse Roe than why can't a woman in control become a prostitue? 3 months ago:
Shooting a gun is very rarely legal here. Boners are better than gun Boners

Fucking is legal, selling is legal. Why isn’t selling fucking legal?

- Comment on Are all phone calls voip (voice over Internet protocol) now? 7 months ago:
They are switching off the copper network in NZ. Suburb by suburb at the moment. But 87% have fibre, up to 8Gb/s to the home.
- Comment on When will "Star Wars: A New Hope" enter public domain? 11 months ago:
The despecialized edition uses a ton of cleaned up shots that don’t change in a story sense but have grain and wires and other compositing errors cleaned up. These are new works. Even the VHS release and any HD releases could be considered new works as the colour and sound would have been tweaked for each format. The best thing to do would be to find an original film print and have it scanned. Anything else would push the clock back.
- Comment on If so-called AI is basically just Large Language Models, how come predictive text on my phone is bollock-useless? 1 year ago:
A pre trained model isn’t going to learn how you type the more you use it. Though with Microsoft owning SwiftKey, I imagine they will try it soon
- Comment on Does anyone feel like an actual adult? 1 year ago:
It’s being at home with my PlayStation and my own music and all my silly purchases that makes me feel most like a child.
Funnily enough it’s travelling when I feel like an adult.
- Comment on Why do they use large video cameras on TV? 1 year ago:
A shoulder mounted camera with lots of mass is easier to get stable footage from, it doesn’t wobble around like a small handheld
- Comment on Why do they use large video cameras on TV? 1 year ago:
It’s all digital these days, pro cameras have hot swappable ssd drives so you can record to 2 drives at once for backup, or record endlessly

- Comment on What’s the purpose of 3D printing in ABS vs other more modern filaments? 1 year ago:
Also abs gives off poisonous styrine vapours you must vent the fumes outside.
- Comment on Is it medically safe to you a butt plug made with PETG plastic? 1 year ago:
For single use, sure there’s food safe grade petg. However there’s tiny pores between layers that would make it impossible to fully clean. There are lacquer sprays, also food grade for sealing prints or print in asa or abs and vapour smooth it. Happy butt stuffing.
