Very much so but people often kill them for looking nasty. When in reality they totally depend on humans to survive. And provide nothing else than benefits to us. They need warmth of our homes and very specific climate. They can’t survive outdoors.

They eat other insects. All of them, not just roaches.

Can’t say I’ve ever had fun with slotted screw.
- Comment on acceptable screws 5 weeks ago:
They can take more torque, don’t cam out when screwing and most importantly can’t be damaged easily by constantly using the screw, unlike Philips which fucks off after second attempt.
- Comment on acceptable screws 5 weeks ago:
Wow, person making this chart actually has no clue. First two are absolute worst nightmare. Torx, Pozidrive, JIS, Alan all great with minimum damage.

SMS is good enough. Sure it’s not as authenticator or some other MFA method, but it’s good enough. Chances of my random account hiding something worth subverting cell operator to get the SMS and my password, are slim to none. At that point don’t upload anything worth that much.

I hope so too. Sadly, I am from a country where I can’t do better than spread the word. Thanks for submitting a complaint. You are doing the good the rest of us can’t.

- Comment on Gameplay mechanics were also a lot better with more replayability. 1 month ago:
Well yea:
- No online play meant game had to be played with people sitting next to you. You had to socialize;
- No updates meant games had to be finished when sold, none of the early access or battle pass bullshit;
- Games were made hard to artificially give longer play time but this resulted in sense of achievement when you beat the game;
- Booklets were actually awesome because you had lore in your hands which was written in a way not to spoil the game but hyped you to play further so you could get to that content.
Sure for the most part it’s nostalgia, but technology brought as many, if not more, bad things as it did with good things. We’ve seen games get much better than old games and we’ve seen them much worse.

Am not the average consumer so I wouldn’t know. I do miss good strategy games, turn based and story rich RPGs, etc.

And yet they won’t do it right because everyone wants to make a game as a service these days and sell loot boxes and collectibles with season passes, special editions, early adopter bonuses, login bonuses and in-game currency. If it lacks even two the things I mentioned, I’d be surprised.

Didn’t read the title and though, from a thumbnail, it was Lisa Kudrow. This got my hopes up really high, but then I saw it was vagina candle inventor.
- Comment on Why does the film press talk so much about box office income? 1 month ago:
Dick-measuring contest. They use those numbers as a metric of success but it’s not. For example “Shawshank Redemption” bombed box office, so did “The Thing” and number of other cult movies. They bombed box office but later became cult movies that are still earning money.

Stainless steel screw through the part where plastic and metal pipe meet. Or epoxy.

But at that point economy gets lesser stimulation from disposable income, which UBI in part addresses.
- Comment on Do straight lines and flat planes exist in nature? 1 month ago:
Short answer, depends on perspective. For example surface of perfectly still lake could be considered flat, but on macro level it follows curvature of the earth. But we still use water to level our buildings, because radius of a planet is so big. On microscopic level it’s anything but flat.
Someone else mentioned spider silk danging. It’s also another great example, but the same perspective clause applies. But usually crystals and some geological features tend to have flat features.
- Comment on Do bike tires increase pressure in summerm 1 month ago:
In short, keep the pressure constant, because 8bar will be 8bar in winter and in summer. It’s kind of a 1kg of steel vs 1kg of feather type of deal. It’s still 1kg.
But if you want the details, yes pressure will increase with temperature, they are directly related. Charles’s law state “The absolute pressure exerted by a given mass of an ideal gas is inversely proportional to the volume it occupies if the temperature and amount of gas remain unchanged within a closed system.” Since in bike tires volume is constant, it’s given that pressure is the one to change.
And yes, tires do explode. I had mine explode when bike was left on the sun but it had underlying issue. Under normal circumstances they are usually engineered to withstand normally expected temperatures. Also tires get hotter when they are ridden and they also experience sudden raise in pressure when running over pot holes and similar.
- Comment on Do bike tires increase pressure in summerm 1 month ago:
But at the same time, tire itself expands reducing the pressure.
- Comment on Peak technology 1 month ago:
Because they are no bullshit brand. You get what you pay for. Open the box, put it somewhere, connect to WIFI and forget about it. The moment you need it, it will happily spring to life without complaints and then go back to sleep.
It’s hardly believable how problem-free these printers are. They have a bunch of models, but you always get what you pay for. Laser is this much, a bit more expensive is LAN model, a bit more LAN+WIFI, then higher up scanner added, etc. They also work without drivers on Linux. Company also allows recycled and third party toners. In my case they are even faster to receive data and print than any other printer I’ve had. They even don’t send statistics back home, even though they are network connected.

NMS at least is working on its redemption and now game is at least decent and has entertainment value. Sure it’s a bit grindy but to those who love exploration it’s a gift.
