Good news.

China (at least for now) has adopted a policy of fierce internal competition.

The Chinese are moving aggressively into this market.
If shortages last until the 2030s, they will catch up and dominate the market.
I will have no sympathy for Western companies if that happens.

It’s like saying adding more steps to a ladder will make it fly.
Fundamentally, LLMs are not AI.

This a blast from the past.

The seeds of this started in the George Bush era and earlier.
The compliant press that cheer led the Iraq war.
The formation of an oligarchy that hugely influenced economic policy.
The attacks on experts, scientists and general modern science.
The vicious attacks on liberals and anybody else who opposed them.
The infiltration of far-right Christians into the highest levels of government and the military.

Bro, it is likely 100,000 people (mostly women and children) are dead.
Even if Arab Americans voted at the same rate as 2020, the outcome would not have changed.
The reality is that incumbent governments around the world, regardless of political orientation, have been getting tossed out of power due to inflation and cost of living pressures.

The Democrats did enable genocide though.
Doesn’t mean Trump was going to be any better.

Gaming “journalism” was always mostly crap.
Even in 1990s and 00s.
- Comment on US Democracy 1 year ago:
There may not be any need for that.
The United States, China, etc. all have trade policies that are fundamentally unsustainable and result in persistent trade imbalances.
This causes all sorts of poor economic outcomes for large sectors of those countries. For example, an anaemic household sector in China and over investments in housing, huge private and public sector deficits in the United States, etc.
In the free market world of Adam Smith, persistent trade imbalances should not exist.
At some point, there is going to be an economic crisis.

Just your average Israeli.
Their current national hero doing the rounds on talk shows is the guy who filmed himself raping random Palestinians who were picked up in a sweep in the West Bank.
