I have predicted a few years ago that the “PC”, ie x86 IBM PC compatible computers, will rift into diferent devices, some running locked Windows, some running other OS like Linux-based ones, BSD, etc that value freedom amd openness. The issue is that it is Microsoft who designed and controls Secure Boot. And they will close more and more.
After 30+ years of Microshaft shenanigans, I just don’t trust them and never will.

I’m done with Xiaomi. Good hardware but very intrusive software. Just to change the ringtone or the notification sound I have to accept being spied by them. Had to use a 3rd party software to change these. Wallpapers? Nah, accept the terms to be spied on as you use our theme software. I’m done, writing this on a Redmi Note 11 but already ordered a Moto G23 to replace it. Love the screen of the Note 11 but tired of the bullshit push to relinquish control of the device.
Will try the Pixel Experience ROM after I transfer everything to the new phone but I need banking apps working, not much hopeful.
