Not very effective.

there are plastic 3D printed guns where the barrel is plastic. Its springs and the firing pin that would need to be metal. When your gun only needs to work for a dozen shots with subsonic ammunition, 3D printed plastic can be fine.
The shizo abe deleter was also was also homemade from weak materials. That’s enough when you only intend to use the gun once.
There are real processionally manufactured guns made mostly from plastic like the glock, and there are new strong printable plastics. 3D printed guns are feasible, people make them as a hobby.

look it up if you’re interested.
3D printed plastic guns have been a thing for many years now. Not every part is 3D printed, they do require you to source some metal parts to make it work. But the majority of a gun can be created in plastic in a printer.

Seems to be fake. Author Phil McKracken seems to be badly spaced and is a name often used for practical jokes, and doesn’t appear to have written any other articles.
Fake image, but the story of him being shot and dying from it is real.

Phones don’t do it with USB audio devices which are digital devices with unique identification.
Its not the hardware, its the software.
- Comment on Thanks for the warning I guess?? 3 weeks ago:
With the removal of the headphone jack, phones have lost the ability to not know what is plugged in. USB and Bluetooth devices have information that the phone could account for but chooses not to.

Pretty much every protest in which farmers are involved includes spraying manure on government buildings. You don’t just not use the manure launcher if you have one.

republicans do voter suppression and purge voter roles. victims of either of these practices would be punished with a larger tax burden. not ideal.
voting should be compulsory

If the voters are the problem every time, the problem probably isn’t the voters, it’s probably the system. The US always has bad turnout.

71 million in a country of 262 million adults. 27% voted for fascism. 74 million voted for trump in 2020. This wasn’t a shit towards fascism, but the opposition party utterly failing to win voters.
The country has never been majority rule. Every modern election has split the country in thirds, about a third votes one way, a third votes the other and a third choses not to vote.
Over 70% of voting aged americans did not vote for trump.

- Comment on A third-party candidate could cost Kamala Harris votes in a key state. It might be enough to hand victory to Donald Trump 1 month ago:
those are not circumstances unique to this election.
if the democrats are running a campaign that cannot succeed without a third party abandoning the strategy they’ve been using constantly for the past 28 years, they have already lost.
the greens are not a chaotic force doing unpredictable things. if democrats don’t account for the greens doing what they always do, its their own fault if they lose.
- Comment on A third-party candidate could cost Kamala Harris votes in a key state. It might be enough to hand victory to Donald Trump 1 month ago:
the green party has nominated a candidate, and ran in every single presidential election since 1996. why would they suddenly decide to drop out now?
- Comment on A third-party candidate could cost Kamala Harris votes in a key state. It might be enough to hand victory to Donald Trump 1 month ago:
There are orders of magnitude more nonvoters than third party voters. The nonvoters swing elections, not third party voters.
I am yet to find a single us presidential election with only two candidates. Third parties have and will always exist. Any candidate who doesn’t account for this fact is irresponsible.
If harris loses its her fault and no one else’s.

the meme is deliberately misleading. this wasn’t a gamer who became a soldier, he is a soldier who plays games sometimes.

heavier vehicles corner worse. traffic calming is more effective

- Comment on Seattle is like "come to downtown please" 2 months ago:
no.
traffic calming devices use physics. a car cannot travel through a chicane above the maximum designed speed. bollards stop vehicles from endangering people by being solid.
you don’t need humans to enforce the laws of physics, that’s why traffic calming works.
- Comment on Seattle is like "come to downtown please" 2 months ago:
If you think you need temporary speed limits to keep children safe, you have streets that are fundamentally unsafe for everyone.
Traffic cameras exist to generate revenue for the police department.
They should be changing the code to ensure that streets are safe for everyone at all times, not just the few hours a day when there are likely to be children present.

- Comment on There you go little guy 2 months ago:
Yes, and and those laws are frequently violated to farm more tickets.
- Comment on There you go little guy 2 months ago:
The most viable alternative to traffic stops is a narrow chicane with solid bollards on either side, although oher traffic calming devices are available.
Traffic cameras exist to generate revenue, not to make the streets safer. Intersections with red light cameras almost always have shorter yellow lights, to increase revenue while making the intersection less safe.
