I don’t know about sensors but nerves still register pain, my

Had cortisone, collagen, platelet rich plasma and something else I forgot. All offered varying degrees of temporary relief (2 or so months) Knee replacement has given years of pain relief. No running or court sports (tennis, basketball with stop/start cutting) but returned to backpacking and skiing in 6 months, ice hockey and rock climbing after a full year. (No bouldering, can’t risk landing even with crash pads). Occasionally have to ice for stiffness but pain is gone.

Doesn’t bother me. In general I feel I’ve earned my downvotes. I can say stupid shit or phrase in an insensitive manner. Some cases can be good feedback and cause introspection.
By pattern I’ve think some individuals dislike something (or many things) I’ve said enough to downvote every post of mine they see. If downvoting me makes them feel good, I’m happy for them. The block button is right there though…

I am that old and this is patently false. Sharing a flat was a way to reduce expenses for my generation and generations before me. More common in urban areas. Also for women was often safer than living alone.

IIRC majority of cameras are paid for by governments and installed on public lands so the government bit is appropriate. Fun fact, HOA’s are considered governments, although those cameras are on private property.

Millions of people work for free every day, we call them volunteers. Many of our institutions including hospitals, parks, schools, sports leagues, museums, food banks, community theaters and zoos depend on volunteer staffing to run their programs.
When I hear someone say no one will work if they aren’t paid, I hear projection.

Pick a top professional international level motorsport like F1, NHRA, MotoGP. They have the best vehicles and drivers in the world. Mostly competing on closed courses with unidirectional flow. Still regularly have equipment failure and misjudgment lead to collisions. On a race course everyone agrees to the heightened level of risk.
