- Comment on Is it okay to wash hands with body soap? 10 months ago:
Try “gloves in a bottle”. It soaks in immediately instead of leaving your hands greasy.
- Comment on Are shops in the US usually this run down looking? 11 months ago:
It was the first store I thought of but I haven’t seen one in years. The ones here made family dollar look good and Walmart look upscale.
- Comment on Are shops in the US usually this run down looking? 11 months ago:
Looks like a normal grocery store to me. If you want run down looking you should see what family dollar stores look like.
- Comment on I get that AMP sites are supposed to load faster. But why do they have to be so ugly? 1 year ago:
I hate amp so much that once iOS supported safari extensions I bought the Amplosion extension (from the dev of the Reddit Apollo app). There were constant scrolling and zoom issues for me any time I loaded an amp page, fuck amp.
- Comment on s there a way to make an interface or to use an app like Signal so your texts can't get "legally intercepted" via bluetooth from all car manufacturers? 1 year ago:
In order for the car to access your texts you would need to pair the phone via Bluetooth and allow access to them. This is more about older systems from before Apple CarPlay and android’s equivalent where you were stuck with whatever features the car had rather than just letting your phone take over the entertainment system’s interface.

Would glitter work?
- Comment on Are phone notification LEDs still a thing? 1 year ago:
The iPhone can flash the camera LED for alerts. It’s under accessibility-> audio/visual. Not sure about android but check in your phone’s accessibility features there’s probably something similar.
- Comment on How should I handle an ex friend who feels like he needs to bully me to raise his own self esteem? (We're adults) 1 year ago:
The alcohol is likely related. He might be insecure or something and projecting it on you, liquid courage probably makes him feel more comfortable being an asshole.
- Comment on Amazon coupons: what's the story? 1 year ago:
It’s the same as with any other coupon. They make more money from people who don’t bother to clip it.

- Comment on Trolls like this 1 year ago:
There’s one about centos that goes to a YouTube video so it was probably a YouTube video too.
- Comment on Community for helping people identify music? 1 year ago:
Find the page for the episode on IMDb.com, scroll down to “did you know?” And click sound tracks.
- Comment on Google Assistant tries to pull the "song name" out of anywhere instead of just identifying it by sound 1 year ago:
Alexa got dumb too. I’ll ask her to turn on the fan and she’ll turn on the fan in another room but telling her to turn off the fan turns off the correct one. I ended up getting a HomePod. Siri may be basic but at least she knows what room she’s in.
- Comment on My dog is on an antibiotic for Lyme disease and he will not sleep at night because his stomach is upset 1 year ago:
Don’t get “pumpkin pie mix“ by accident. What you want should say “100% pure pumpkin” and ingredients list should only list pumpkin.
- Comment on Snapchat's new avatar design 1 year ago:
As a gay I take offense to being associated to such an abomination.
- Comment on New cars are great... 1 year ago:
Yeah but shouldn’t the power usage for the infotainment system be similar to a cell phone at this point with similar hardware where it really shouldn’t be possible to run a car battery dead during an update?
- Comment on New cars are great... 1 year ago:
That’s the most ridiculous part to me. Why isn’t this able to continue off the car battery? It should be do not disconnect car battery if anything. I hope there’s some sort of fail safe to prevent it from bricking that doesn’t involve a factory reset or dealer visit.

So she didn’t drink water and despite there being lots of food besides “juice smoothies” that are vegan you think she died because she was vegan rather than because she was stupid?
- Comment on How should I wash dishes/surfaces in contact with raw chicken? 1 year ago:
Here’s the cdc page about it: tools.cdc.gov/api/v2/resources/media/401943/html?…
- Comment on So many spammers I just get it over as quicky as possible these days 1 year ago:
The really infuriating ones are the ones coming from email addresses through my carrier’s email to text gateway despite having email to text blocked on every line on my account.
- Comment on ipads were just updated to 16.6.1 to fix a security issue that allowed pegasus to be installed onto an apple device. will iphone 7 running 15.7.8 get an update to fix the same issue? 1 year ago:
- Comment on You know what really grinds my gears? 1 year ago:
It depends on the site but there’s a few different ways to get around it. For example I didn’t even realize business insider had a paywall because somehow my AdBlock removes it. Some websites work with 12ft.io but lots block it now. If it’s one of the websites that give a limited amount of free articles open it in private browsing mode. And for others archive links seem to work.
- Comment on Are smart door locks more or less secure than traditional door locks? 1 year ago:
I have an august lock that has auto unlock but the Bluetooth radio is so weak it never unlocks. I usually use Siri on my watch to lock/unlock. Next place hopefully I can get one of those homekey tap to unlock ones.
I hope you didn’t pay much for your lock if you can’t even lock it with the app, that’s a huge deal breaker. I don’t remember the last time I used a key.
- Comment on Do Multivitamins actually do anything? 1 year ago:
For me it’s green.
- Comment on Do Multivitamins actually do anything? 1 year ago:
People who haven’t been through it don’t seem to understand it. When my depression was really bad I lost 60 lbs in a few months and couldn’t gain any back for 2 years. Even grabbing a premade salad out of the fridge or putting a microwave meal in the microwave was too much work.
- Comment on Hot take: Users without a profile pick are mildlyinfuriating 1 year ago:
For me it’s people who have a profile pic of their kids on a messaging platform. The point of the pic is to make it easy to tell people apart in my conversation list and I’m not talking to their toddler, I’m talking to them.
- Comment on Why do so many Lemmy instances use weird TLDs? 1 year ago:
Registration and renewal cost plus more availability, most shorter names are taken on the older tlds.
I came up with mine by scrolling through tldlist comparing prices and going with the first idea that popped in my head.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 year ago:
Thinking the feds are after you is a common paranoid delusion from schizophrenia. You should seek help from a psychiatrist. I would really suggest going inpatient but either way seek help from a professional.
- Comment on inundated by ads on iPhone. how do i stop them? 1 year ago:
Yeah I got the family plan off stack social a few years ago for $30. Definitely worth the money.

Adguard will work in other apps via DNS if you get the premium version.
