- Comment on A Sealed Copy Of Fallout 3 DLC Is Selling For Over $2,000, And Fans Have No Idea Why 22 hours ago:
It’s a show piece. No one expects it to sell for that much but it gets eyeballs on the store.
- Comment on The Long Dark gets a big free visual enhancement update out now 1 day ago:
The update is ok. Stuff like terrain blending looks bad and the random environment things, like rocks falling, do break the immersion because they repeat in the same places.
- Comment on When making lots of small games is more sustainable than making one big one 2 days ago:
And in our case, I really feel it boosts our creativity. We’re making this game [TMNT] for less than $300,000 in 18 months.”
I genuinely believe this and it’s kind of a lost sentiment. Hopefully they continue doing what they’re doing and how they want.
- Comment on What games are just objective master pieces? 6 days ago:
Thomas Was Alone
I’ve never felt so much for quadrilateral shapes.
- Comment on What are some good cooperative shooters? Hidden gems? 1 week ago:
- Ready or Not
- Six Days in Fallujah
- Halo
Halo is an all time great and especially for co-op.
- Comment on Game media preservation, where? 1 week ago:
Out of Print archive is my go to for nostalgia.
make sure to look in the WIP section for even more magazines
- Comment on Catchiest video game song? 1 week ago:
Hang On main theme tune is excellent. The soundtrack to Hang-On and Super Hang-On are both top tier.
- Comment on GOG News for Gaming/Linux/Steam Deck 1 week ago:
I like the look of the white custom title cards but whenever I get to a game that doesn’t have one it ruins the theme and I end up changing them back…
Also if Old School Rally does come to GOG I would buy it in a heartbeat. Colin McRae Rally (and 2.0) are some of my all time favorites and I still play them regularly.
- Comment on Wait, that game is still playable online? 1 week ago:
I haven’t played for years now but NeoTokyo still has an active community.
Post Scriptum (now known as Squad 44) is still alive. A very under-appreciated game and they are trying to revive it with a new dev team who have been doing wonders but the active player count is still well below 1k.
- Comment on You can now use authenticator apps to keep your GOG account secure! 2 weeks ago:
Thanks for this. Long overdue from GOG.
- Comment on I'm a console gamer so, Why the hate on the Epic Games Store? 2 weeks ago:
People are overly loyal to Steam and don’t realise the huge market share they have. It’s not technically a monopoly but everyone else is fighting over the 20% that Steam doesn’t have so who can blame Epic for throwing money at the problem.
- Comment on Youtuber Geekerwan has find the motherboard of Switch 2 and after reverse-engineer it have simulate the performance on a similar PC 3 weeks ago:
The pc market has taken a very consumerist turn and it’s actually pretty disgusting. Sad times.
- Comment on Youtuber Geekerwan has find the motherboard of Switch 2 and after reverse-engineer it have simulate the performance on a similar PC 3 weeks ago:
I wish companies stayed on that track.
Welcome to a world of 1000W PSUs :(
- Comment on Will all these multiplayer games being released without support for LAN or hosting our own servers will no longer be playable with others when the company shuts down the servers? 3 weeks ago:
Community servers were/are some of the best times I have in gaming.
- Comment on Youtuber Geekerwan has find the motherboard of Switch 2 and after reverse-engineer it have simulate the performance on a similar PC 3 weeks ago:
Ok yeah that’s fair. Most people.

Who doesn’t want to spend £50+ a month to doom scroll…
- Comment on Youtuber Geekerwan has find the motherboard of Switch 2 and after reverse-engineer it have simulate the performance on a similar PC 3 weeks ago:
People who buy a Switch 2 are not the same people who care about this stuff.
- Comment on Smaller gaming channels 3 weeks ago:
The one channel that I have never stopped watching is Vash12349 as it is always a good time.
As for finding them you just have to search for games that your interested in and start watching untill something clocks with you.
- Comment on Steam Deck / Gaming News #14 3 weeks ago:
Zarya looks like my kind of game so thanks.
Also that PS2 is stunning. I kinda miss all the colourful and/or transparent consoles stuff as it used to be a reasonable option but now it comes with a “special edition” price tag.
- Comment on What is your favorite indie game? 4 weeks ago:
Live for Speed
I’ve been playing it on and off for over 20 years now with some definite highs and lows but I have nothing but respect for the devs and community. It’s not on any store fronts and they just do their own thing.
- Comment on Players Have Too Many Options to Spend $80 on a Video Game 4 weeks ago:
!patientgamers@sh.itjust.works
There are so many options out there that asking for $80, or whatever the equivalent is, is just ridiculous. I really hope people stand up against this bulshit.
- Comment on Microsoft is raising prices on Xbox consoles, controllers, and games worldwide 4 weeks ago:
To be fair PC gaming is a whole different monster to deal with because of the extortionate prices of new hardware and extreme consumerism.
I just want to play games and not be a target for all these companies :/
- Comment on Microsoft is raising prices on Xbox consoles, controllers, and games worldwide 4 weeks ago:
There has always been an inherent value to consoles but if that goes away then I can genuinely see them dying off. Personally I thinks the current gen is a huge disappointment anyway and this news just makes it even more ridiculous.
- Comment on First impressions: Dune Awakening is an MMORPG pretending to be a survival game | Massively Overpowered 5 weeks ago:
Most games that claim to be survival genre are actually just boring crafting games.
- Comment on Fishing games? 5 weeks ago:
Fishing in Red Dead Redemption 2 is very relaxing.
- Comment on Steam Deck / Gaming News #11 5 weeks ago:
As always thanks for the post.
I buy and play games from all the storefronts so it’s nice that you post a variety of stuff and not just default to Steam like everyone else seems to. I also don’t follow the news closely anymore so the variety of topics you give is perfect.
Regarding the website idea; Lemmy needs high quality posts so please keep doing what your doing :)
- Comment on PSA: I want a law for PC games to be offered in physical versions again 1 month ago:
Something like legally required to offer a no-DRM version on all storefronts would be interesting. I don’t care about physical media much anymore but I do want to own what I buy.
- Comment on Found a good video sharing my opinion about Nintendo Switch 2 1 month ago:
Nintendo aren’t the monster they are being played as.
I do think the price is too high for the console, games etc but they have always been slow to the party in many ways. That also means they create amazing stuff that the others cannot and have forged their own path. Don’t hate on them for that aspect.
- Comment on Found a good video sharing my opinion about Nintendo Switch 2 1 month ago:
From what I watched it is heavily biased against Nintendo and from someone who clearly isn’t the target audience.
My interest in Nintendo has been slowly slipping away since the early 00s and I wouldn’t even call myself a fan anymore but videos like these are worthless.
- Comment on Found a good video sharing my opinion about Nintendo Switch 2 1 month ago:
I watched for a couple minutes then stopped. It’s clear they had no intention or interest in the Switch 2 before all the outrage so why bother to watch the next 18 and 30 seconds…
