It still works tho.
However, every game on Xbox Series X also has to work on Series S, meaning every game is sort of chained to the limitations of that console to a degree.
Developing for the S is frustrating, and since you’re forced to develop for it when developing for the X, the title of the article still works as-is.

Microsoft’s walked this back for a few games now, BG3 being the largest, and I’d bet a lot try at Witcher 4 will get that same bump.

It’s their headline, not mine.

Then why even post it? I get it’s theirs but that’s wildly misleading and there are other sites using the S in their headline.

Title needs to be updated. They were bemoaning the Series S not the Series X.

You have 2 options for the S. Aim for 60 fps, or 30fps. If you target 60, most newer engine titles will look like the new Doom did at 60 fps, garbage. You have to run at such a low resolution to make it possible. At 30fps, you can at least not look like your screen is smeared with vaseline at the sacrifice of smoothness.
Give the player the option of 30/60 so they we can play how we want.

Note to self: don’t post Xbox articles next time.

I really like my Series S but having a few games be X exclusive would be fine. It’s definitely holding the X back at this point.

The series S, not the series X which is close in power to the PS5.

It’s really convoluted and, in this case, not really the fault the developers. Microsoft presents everyone with a high-end console, the Series X, but studios like CD Projekt Red can’t make use of its full potential because they’re forced to target the lower-end Series S first.

I’m responding to the stupid misleading headline. The series X (according to the article) is not the challenge. It’s the series S that is. Regardless of Microsoft’s dumb rules, the headline is misleading and disingenuous.
