Situational awareness. Read the room and try to anticipate potential problems in advance.

If we are in a simulation, then there is a possibility that our creators are also in a simulation as well. But no matter how far up the chain you go, eventually someone has to be real. So even if we are in a simulation, the information that represents us is still very real, in the sense that it is being stored within a real universe.
-
The fact that we are sentient and capable of experiencing, rather than simply being an organic automaton, suggests that there is more to the universe than what physics can currently explain. We don’t really know what sentience is or if it even exists, but the answer might shed light on whether we are in a simulation.

If you are disrupting the business and you are told to leave, and you refuse, then that would be trespassing. There is no sane jurisdiction in which simply going to a drive thru without buying anything constitutes a crime.
This seems like common sense to me.
- Comment on If saturated fat is the most unhealthy part of cooking oils, then why don't we remove it? 9 months ago:
Finally, this perfectly answers the question I had. Thank you!
- Comment on If saturated fat is the most unhealthy part of cooking oils, then why don't we remove it? 9 months ago:
I am not suggesting we add any additives, only to remove an existing fat from the mixture that makes up cooking oils.
- Comment on If saturated fat is the most unhealthy part of cooking oils, then why don't we remove it? 9 months ago:
No, Olestra was a totally new compound that replaces fats. All I am suggesting is to separate the saturated fats and use the remaining oil.
- Comment on If saturated fat is the most unhealthy part of cooking oils, then why don't we remove it? 9 months ago:
That could be true for meat and dairy industries but I fail to see how removing saturated fat would be a threat to Big Vegetable Oil.

- Comment on Why is propaganda frowned upon? 10 months ago:
But isn’t any form of persuasion going to involve selective facts?
- Comment on Why is propaganda frowned upon? 10 months ago:
You can still be manipulative without lying, by simply choosing the right facts.
- Comment on Why is propaganda frowned upon? 10 months ago:
That’s an interesting take. It’s the lack of regulations that separates propaganda.
- Comment on Why is propaganda frowned upon? 10 months ago:
Can you show me?
- Comment on Why is propaganda frowned upon? 10 months ago:
Not all propaganda is false, sometimes propaganda uses facts to persuade. All forms of persuasion involve controlling others, but for some reason propaganda is the most taboo.

Wrong. I have nearly died on several occasions because I didn’t wait the required 30 minutes. The second time I waited 28 minutes because I miscounted and that was all it took to earn me a trip to the ER.

FAQ
What does this mean?
The amount of karma (points) on your post and Lemmy account has decreased by one.
Why did you do this?
There are several reasons I may deem a post to be unworthy of positive or neutral karma. These include, but are not limited to:
-
Rudeness towards other Lemmings,
-
Spreading incorrect information
Am I banned from the Lemmy?
No - not yet. But you should refrain from making posts like this in the future. Otherwise I will be forced to issue an additional downvote, which may put your commenting and posting privileges in jeopardy.
I don’t believe my post deserved a downvote. Can you un-downvote it?
Sure, mistakes happen. But only in exceedingly rare circumstances will I undo a downvote. If you would like to issue an appeal, shoot me a private message explaining what I got wrong. I tend to respond to Lemmy PMs within several minutes. Do note, however, that over 99.9% of downvote appeals are rejected, and yours is likely no exception.
How can I prevent this from happening in the future?
Accept the downvote and move on. But learn from this mistake: your behavior will not be tolerated on Lemmy. I will continue to issue downvotes until you improve your conduct. Remember: Lemmy is privilege, not a right.
