- Comment on Parents!! Make sure you check your kid's candy thoroughly this year!! Look what i just found in my son's Reese's Peanut Butter Cup!! 11 months ago:
This sounds like something out of the Fazbear Frights books.
- Comment on Gene Roddenberry's first sci-fi show pitch from 1955: "The Transporter" 1 year ago:
The ending bits that imply a darker vision of this future suggests a very different direction for the show. Still, there are Star Trek episodes that do consider the holodeck from this angle. Maybe we need a mirror universe holodeck episode.
- Comment on Cities Skylines 2 player feedback 1 year ago:
I don’t like how we have 2 games called CS2 in the same year. Since Cities has worse performance, I say we all agree to abbreviate it some other way, like 2 Cities 2 Skylines.

- Comment on Open source community figures out problems with performance in Starfield 1 year ago:
That did happen with Elden Ring. Valve found an issue with it and patched it for Vulkan, so it ran better on Steam Deck than Windows.

The end of the article seems to say as much. However, it seems the DXVK developers are trying to improve what they can.
- Comment on New Nintendo patent suggests Switch 2 may solve joycon drift 1 year ago:
Two things I notice
would eliminate stick drift almost entirely
I thought Hall effect sensors didn’t drift at all?
Second, I’m wondering what exactly Nintendo is patenting here, since Hall effect sensors are nothing new.
- Comment on Celebrate 50 Years of Star Trek Animation with the Launch of 'Star Trek: very Short Treks' 1 year ago:
I expect that the Very Short Treks won’t be entirely non-canon. For instance, some episode might introduce an event, place, or technology that is actually canon even if the events of the episode itself are not canon.
Alternatively, they could be loosely canon in the same way as the Lego Star Wars shows/games, with the rough events and plots being canon even if exact details are not.
- Comment on What are YOU planning? 1 year ago:
I like the implication that someone put the Sega Dreamcast into their contacts list.
- Comment on East & West vs. Left & Right 1 year ago:
Just reorient the map like they did on ancient maps! Then East can be on top and West on the bottom.
- Comment on Freebooting Twitter Account getting millions of views without credit, original creators get next to none... 1 year ago:
Glad to see that at least the Freebooting term is kept alive even if Hello Internet isn’t.
- Comment on I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're refering to as Windows, is in fact, GNU/Windows, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Windows. 1 year ago:
I once saw a computer at my workplace with over a year of uptime…
- Comment on 1 year ago:
I think you can just take the text of a license like Creative Commons but modify it to say that you’re not giving permission to use your content to train AI. You could even put a quick message at the beginning to say that your license is based on CC but modified to explicitly prohibit training AI.

This is your hourly reminder that Brave is still Chromium and still contributes to Google’s influence over internet standards.
- Comment on How do names of countries get translated? What is the reason why Nippon/Nihon is called Japan or Ellada is called Greece in English? 1 year ago:
Please, let me live in a world where Americans call it Netherlands.
-An American who thinks calling it Holland is dumb.
- Comment on How do names of countries get translated? What is the reason why Nippon/Nihon is called Japan or Ellada is called Greece in English? 1 year ago:
I agree with you, but I think the name Netherlands comes from the land being low.

- Comment on Do you think that there may be random internet posts from today that in the future may be seen on the same level as Plato or other great philosophers? 1 year ago:
Hey, that makes you a sorcerer, just in the wrong century.
- Comment on Do you think that there may be random internet posts from today that in the future may be seen on the same level as Plato or other great philosophers? 1 year ago:
In the time of Plato, only the most educated could read and write. So if you could do both, I think your odds of being remembered had almost as much to do with writing good quality as it did with being lucky enough for your writing to survive centuries.
As for us…it will happen but only very rarely.
