Do you see a similar message for other news and social media sites? My gut tells me that it’s just one of many blocklists added to your company’s firewall but they don’t have a specific message for “blocked because not work related”.

OK but look at phone sales instead. Can anyone link the removal of any feature to a decline in sales? If these changes actually hurt these companies and were unpopular with users, the data would speak to that.

Just for the record, ad blockers will still exist despite the changes: www.reddit.com/r/uBlockOrigin/…/ubo_minus_mv3/

A fair point, but in your original example we’re talking about a cell phone. That’s a significantly more subtle inclusion than Tom draping himself in an American flag and riding off on the back of an eagle.
I don’t remember the scene we’re talking about, so if it was a cell phone in the real world I see no issue. If it was in Barbie’s world then it should’ve been plastic. That would be my only complaint.

I understand your point, but a movie that is itself a 2-hour advertisement doesn’t lose any of its value by showing other brands.
What’s bleak is that a movie about a toy grosses over a billion at the box office. Not that BMW or Samsung want you to look at their stuff.

BK made a Spiderman hamburger. Does that count?

Plus the sound-alikes are pretty good if the end of the teaser is any indication.
Meanwhile Solar Opposites just said “fuck it” and cast someone who doesn’t sound like him at all, and came up with the most hilariously absurd reasoning behind the voice change.
- Comment on The recent criticism of Linus Tech Tips, explained 1 year ago:
No it’s not. It’s not how the item got out of LTT’s hands that the issue here. It’s that LTT didn’t return a fucking prototype! Sold, lost, melted down, really doesn’t matter. If I’m making products and want to send one to LMG for a review, I’m insisting on him paying a hefty deposit first, because he clearly can’t be trusted.
- Comment on The recent criticism of Linus Tech Tips, explained 1 year ago:
Linus really doesn’t respond well to criticism. He’s trying to act like a sale and an auction are 2 different things? If some hardware vendor tried to feed him that excuse he’d devote a whole video to it! Hell, if someone had sold one of his screwdriver prototypes he’d probably have thrown a fit and sued (as is his right)!
He’s picking quantity of videos over quality, so stuff like this is only going to accelerate.

Being blunt about it doesn’t make it better. He’s clearly, consciously deciding that he’d rather fill the board than do good work. It’s the kind of thing he’s criticized other companies for in the past.
I mean it’s fine if that’s the kind of business he wants to run but then he can’t be upset when folks like me say “nah”.

Tears of the Kingdom was $70, and I honestly feel like it was worth it because it’s quite an entertaining and enthralling experience.
“Pro football video game v. 34” is probably not in the same caliber though.

Me and my buddies went because we couldn’t get tickets to Oppenheimer right away. “Barbie smashes the patriarchy” was not on my summer movie bingo card, but I’ll take it! Ending was a little strange though

They’re selling an “I am Kenough” sweater for like $80 already, so if anything I’m surprised they didn’t have this doll ready to go!

Talk to anyone who works for a nonprofit. It’s really hard to find enough donors sometimes. You end up relying on a few really rich people because most of the community can only donate a couple bucks.
If every Firefox user donated $4 per year they’d be a billion dollar company and wouldn’t need Google’s deal
- Comment on Umm I think I'll just delete you instead 1 year ago:
It’s only free because they’re trusting users to donate. That method of generating income for their developers could stop working at any time. Lots of FLOSS projects struggle to find kosher funding.

Firefox wants to rely on donations but in reality 90% of their funding comes from an advertising company.
