- Comment on How does one who doesn’t have a ‘home’ choose their team? 2 weeks ago:
Generally speaking, people tend to pick teams or athletes you can relate to … In my case for example, I chose to cheer for Sir Lewis Hamilton in the F1 series, even tho I’ve only ever visited Britain, I learnt about his career and his “rag to riches” story and all that his parents sacrificed for him to become the champ resonated with me.

I’ve worked with this monstrosity, it’s not unlike other mainframe operating systems like IMB’s “System i”
I believe there’s still developers out there working on modern versions of it

The whole OS is essentially a really big nosql database, the filesystems are journaled and you have “files” but you also have dynamic files called “print queues” and executables are “jobs” that run queries and output into queues.
I know at least two of the major hotel chains use them still in their core network.

- Comment on Theoretically speaking, if one wanted to sail the seas while being not very tech savvy – is using a VPN (Mullvad) enough? I would never, of course… but theoretically? 4 weeks ago:
mull is a very decent VPN and that will do OK to anonymize your traffic, but that’s all you’re doing … you’re far from safe from all threats.
There’s malicious downloads, torrent hijacks, honeypots, bandwidth issues, the Number one thing you need to stay safe is COMMON SENSE …
So educate yourself and learn about this world you’re getting into. The information is out there and freely available.

Just had the same problem with my LucidSound LS45 … the headband is metal, I saw the recommendation to get them in one of those “buy it for life” threads so I did …
Turns out that the end caps of the headband are plastic and prone to breaking … I was able to save them by buying a non working “parts only” set on eBay and replacing the parts
This thing has been with me for 8 years and counting … they’ve been along for 3 motherboards, 2 cars and 6 girlfriends LOL

Depending on the charger, it may be exactly the same thing.
Go watch a video about the P.D (Power delivery) standard.
Macbook air and up use P.D2.0 (65W)
There is a newer version (PD3.0) that goes up to 100W, but it’s more expensive, rare and hasn’t really caught up as much.

Interestingly enough … the Cuban slang for “gay” is the same word we use to describe one of these gender changing fish
“Cherna” … while more light heated than the English F word, it’s still a derogatory term so please don’t use it on your friends.
Actually now that I think about it, this is how it’s most commonly used … Straight males sling it to their other straight male friends.
