Robots have no place in the workforce until all of humanity is reasonably taken care of and don’t need to work. Until then all they’re doing is taking livelihoods away from people.
this is the only thing I agree with you on.
However this is just like being mad at service workers, sure current llms aren’t sentient, maybe language models can’t be idk i’m not a philosopher or psychologist, but the robot didn’t steal your job, they didn’t even ask for it, they were built and given it, maybe direct the anger to the person who actually did you wrong instead…
- Comment on It's that time again 1 week ago:
The whole story only makes sense through the propaganda lens, brave freedom fighters against an oppressive government taxing them for no reason.
Then you read the actual context and it’s a bunch of new aristocracy high on slave money mad that the empire refuses to let them expand past the boarders established in a war that benefited them and they are now having to pay taxes for.

Because this it’s trivial to write it in a way that won’t cause this confusion and yet every 3 months or so someone posts another one of these gotcha no context given equations and we as the internet have this same discussion again and again. It’s bait…

it’s mean in that they intentionally wrote it to trip people up so we’d have this very conversion…

- Comment on I dunno 7 months ago:
The operational order is fucked, the way I rewrote is more readable, even if you remember the order. The only reason you’d write the equation like that is to be mean, there’s no reason to write it like that unless you’re trying to trip people up.
- Comment on I dunno 7 months ago:
No, it’s written poorly to drive engagement. People read left to right and try to do math that way too, but if you want to be mean to people who don’t remember things they learned in elementary school then never applied in real life you write it like this.
(8-5)5-2
Far easier for most people, but then you don’t get the arguments…

Maybe I’m missing context on this, but halo slop?
Infinite came out 3 years ago and though they’ve done updates and general live service garbage there haven’t been any major releases since. Halo isn’t a yearly release schedule, charging full price for the same game every year like sports games, so i’m not seeing the slop…

Capitalism is a shitty broken system built on exploitation, I would really like it to collapse.
That said, if you know the rules of the game, play.

Story yes, game no.
The only reason I completed it was because I wanted to see the end, but by the end I hated the game so much I can’t play the entire genre anymore without almost physical pain… The mechanics of random battle and grind cause my spirit to flag and my will to drain, now no matter how good the story of the game is I just can’t.

Xenogears man, I hate that game. It put a deep hatred for random battles into my heart which killed most JRPGs for me.
You could literally hear the CD stop and the random battles load.
- Comment on James Cameron on 'Avatar 3' Potentially Sparking Fan Backlash 1 year ago:
I really tried with Avatar, but the CGI is too cartoony, the second one is the worst because they have billy the human boy interacting with these cartoon characters for half the movie which just makes the uncanny valley deeper.
