Anaconda in TimeSplitters 2, mostly for the incredibly catchy music.

No one uses Gimp for professional use. Gimp is not a full replacement of what Photoshop does.

Apparently it’s worth $20/month.
- Comment on Why were online subscriptions once rare, but now they are everywhere? 10 months ago:
Adobe did it because everybody and their grandmother just pirated Photoshop instead of paying that huge one time fee (licenses costed around $900 not counting inflation). It wasn’t until they went with the subscription model when people actually started to pay for Photoshop.

I will never forgive them for closing down free radical. It’s the closest we’ve been to a new Timesplitters game in a long time.

- Comment on What are some 3D platformer/3rd person shooter hybrids aside from the Ratchet and Jak series? 10 months ago:
It was a long time ago I played it, so I’m not sure how well it has aged.
But I recommend Ty the Tasmanian Tiger. It’s a platformer where boomerangs are your weapon. Over time you unlock different kinds of boomerangs with different perks (like fire boomerangs or exploding boomerangs). I remember it being quite fun at the time.

That’s a bummer. I loved TS2 and TS3. I really hoped they would finally do it this time and release a fourth one.
- Comment on Final Fantasy 16 on PC shows signs of life, with producer Yoshi-P saying it will run best on an SSD 11 months ago:
It’s recent. Previously many games were also targeting PS4 and Xbox One, which used slower hard disks. But that is now becoming a thing of the past. Now we should expect more games utilize faster hard disk speeds.

The original NMS trailer was also revealed on one of the Geoff Keighley award shows (I’m sure it was The Game Awards back then).
- Comment on The Weekly 'What are you playing?' Discussion 11 months ago:
Playing Inscryption. I guess I’m about halfway through. I liked how it started, but I feel like the game is already running out of steam. Not sure if I’m going to finish it.

Underwhelming is a more appropriate wording. It’s a good game. It just leaves more to be desired. Especially after all these years of development.

Elden Ring really scratches that exploratory game itch. Every meter felt worth visiting. You never really know what awaits in the next corner. If you’re lucky it might be the entrance to a completely unique area, all with its own set of enemies and bosses. It’s a game that dares to put an optional secret area behind a secret area behind another secret area.
Even on second play through I was caught off guard by some new surprises.
Compare it to Tears of the Kingdom for example. Wherever you go, you will find the same sets of enemies and often even the same environmental assets. After you’ve visited a few of the sky archipelago islands there’s few other surprises to see there. Encountering the first Flux Construct is a fun challenge, but after the 20th one it has turned into a mindless chore.

- Comment on Squadron 42: Hold The Line 1 year ago:
Exactly! They’ve found an incredibly successful business model without having to release a finished game. There’s no incentive for them to change that.

Spoiler: it will
- Comment on Lies of P - Discussion 1 year ago:
I’ve only played the demo of P, but if you expect Sekiro sword dances you’re probably going to be disappointed.
Parrying is important in P, as it builds up stagger. But they’re trickier to land. Can be quite satisfying once that’s nailed down.
Not sure how the game evolves beyond the demo.

- Comment on 'Oppenheimer' Surpasses 'Bohemian Rhapsody' Becomes Highest-Grossing Biopic of All-Time 1 year ago:
I got the feeling that Oppenheimer is quite true to the events compared to many other Hollywood biopics. I could read Wikipedia about the events after watching the movie and think “oh yeah, that happened in the movie” for many paragraphs. Some lines in the movie are even accurate word for word.
The Imitation Game is pure fiction by comparison. It’s a fascinating story to base a movie on, but they decide to throw it all out and instead replace it with something completely made up. I hate how they wasted that potential.

Unity is charging per install (not per sold unit), so technically developers can owe Unity more money than they make.
