Fair.
I've found a lot of gems with 60% ratings. Usually the type that's really well crafted, but requires people to watch and pay attention. The first thing that comes to mind as an example is the first season of the witcher. It was all laid out to understand, but you had to pay attention to the name drops. 68% critic score, but I thought that first season was excellent - Comment on Cannes crowd boos Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis 5 months ago:
I've seen very few critics opinions that I've agreed with, and fewer I disagree with but voice their opinion in a way that isn't purely subjective.
Just mentioning because I'm seeing a horrible amount of journalist and journalist adjacent professionals doing very bad work. - Comment on Never make the mistake of visiting a community for your favorite podcasts 6 months ago:
Srsly Wrong's latest podcast talked a lot about how oil companies funded grassroots pro oil campaigns and then linked it to our larger culture and how we can't trust anyone anymore.
I never thought I'd be able to say not trusting each other is big oils fault, but here we are

Why is it always the delusional ones that make these posts?
'why is the fediverse so left wing?' proceeds to post Nazi dog whistles. - Comment on [deleted] 1 year ago:
This is about US hegemony in the middle east. It has very little to do with a little strip.
Saudi Arabia was on the verge of normalizing relations with Israel. Suddenly there's a Hamas attack on Israel? Thinking this is only about Gaza is like thinking a cake is only about eggs. - Comment on How Unions CRUSH Capitalists - Adam Conover 1 year ago:
We're all complicit when we say that Unions are great, if we're not couching it with a worker ownership is better
- Comment on How Unions CRUSH Capitalists - Adam Conover 1 year ago:
Unions are only the best if you believe there's good points about capitalism.
They are a bandaid solution to some of the more extreme problems with capitalism.
A better model is worker ownership.

I watched TNG with my daughter. Every time there was a trans episode we felt a little cringe. Expecting a show from the early 90s to have horrible takes, but every time, they did well. Our cringe was misplaced

I have a family member who did security on that film. He met Robin, and developed a very short friendship with him. (apparently they had coffee together on set a few times, which means that Robin would have had to go out of his way, as either he went on break with security or hung out while family was on duty)

- Comment on Why is the legal system so expensive? 1 year ago:
Absolutely right, but the added subtext is so that rich people win against poor people.
It's designed that way. It was on purpose. - Comment on Is saying "Don't need to know hebrew to know the Holocaust was bad" antisemetic? 1 year ago:
I'm going to assume that you mean well, but aren't well informed on this subject.
Genocide isn't just about killing people. It's about destroying a people. The best example I know is how Canada treated/treats indigenous peoples.
Forced sterilization and children removed from their culture are two ways that these peoples have been decimated.
The Canadian genocide against the indigenous peoples has been recognized by multiple governments and falls within the common definition.
The genocide during the Holocaust was immediate and violent like a bomb. The Canadian genocide is a slow burn like a forest fire.

In the US the largest group of people without id's are Democrats and black.
It's literally making the system more racist.

Rhas al Ghul is the original longtermism.
I think that philosophy, in it's current techbro incarnation, is pretty.... Dumb, but the way rhas talks about it, it kinda makes sense.

I've appreciated a lot of these stories so much differently as an adult.
Xavier, the good guy, is loaded and low-key supports mutant genocide because his motivation is to maintain the system that allows for out groups to be genocided.
Magneto is attempting to make everyone safer by dismantling the systems of oppression.
