You want to show that you can cook on her level but you never told us what’s her level. Is her cooking any good? What’s your age and experience? 60 buck monthly phone budget is something that will sound reasonable to the policymakers. “Food budget”, however, is completely abstract and negotiable. People who never had to count what they spend on food will argue that everyone can permanently live on the cheapest food items they’ve ever heard of. Don’t forget that according to Fox News, you can eat a whole Thanksgiving dinner for $10. It’s dumb, but that’s how they think, so you have to meet them there if you want to try and get through to them and make a difference.

Yeah, I’m saying they made it code because the doorless showers are the standard, not that putting door there would somehow invalidate the code.
I come from another European country and the law only requires waterproofing the floor + wet areas (shower, around the bath etc.)

I’m not saying it’s not code, I know it’s code. And it’s code because they’re all doing the open shower thing. Why else would they want the whole room waterproofed if not because the whole room routinely gets wet?

But seriously, doorless doesn’t have to mean completely open, for example I have a glass divider wall in my bathroom, towels and toothbrushes stay safely behind the wall.

Shower doors are difficult to clean well, shower curtains stick to the body, space is limited (problem if you’re bigger), steam can make it harder to breathe…
Finns have figured out doorleess showers: they waterproof the whole room and equip it with a squeegee on a long stick. The floor is flat with a slight slope towards the drain. After you’re done you just wipe the floor with the squeegee (takes 10 seconds) and that’s it.

If you suspect you might have sleep apnea, you should first see a doctor. I see you use €, so there’s a chance you won’t need to pay to use a machine - you might get one from your health care operator for free.
For example: my family member in Finland got a diagnosis, and with it he got issued a machine, on the condition that he uses it on most nights. The machine is internet connected. Once a year a doctor makes a remote check-up: they look through the data collected by the machine to see if it works well for you (effective air pressure, persistent obstructions etc.). If you use the machine on most nights (at least 70% of the year), you get to keep it for another year. You also get a new mask, hose and air filter once a year for free.
I hope you can have a similar experience in your home country.

It’s a machine that supports your breathing while you sleep. If you have sleep apnea, you will stop breathing multiple times during the night, which will prevent you from properly resting. CPAP machine connects to a mask on your face and produces a slightly elevated air pressure, which forces air into your lungs.
