Overall, I agree. I run my own yard offgrid with solar and battery, but I still end up firing up the generator a fair bit in winter because the demand periods don’t match the production peak.
But it seems like that’s just a scaling problem, and it seems like a few billion spent on batteries is a less technical solution than a fission plant, depending on the design and scale. But it hasn’t really happened yet, even in China where the parts are produced. They’re further along, but they’re still firing up coal and nuclear at a scale unmatched by the western countries right now, alongside record solar production. So something in that theory isn’t lining up.

I got 2 years just post 1929 and the only reason I won was I sold early and only lost 30% of the 10k, the couch lost 6k.

Add Kraft to that list. I used to eat that stuff all the time as a kid, then I started to eat natural peanut butter and couldn’t stomach that other garbage anymore. And if you buy the good stuff by the tub, it’s cheaper, you just have to mix it.

Canadian. Actually, it’s what I would say is a small to medium sized farm, we have about 350 cows which is about average for cattle operations around here, but we also do about 2000 ac of grain production as well, canola/barley/oats/peas.
You’d probably have seen a lot of corn silage in the US, which is rare here, corn takes too many heat days for us, though of course that’s changing. We will do barley or oats into silage in August, besides a round of hay silage at this time of year.

Silage often has species in it that are hell on horses, like clover and ryegrass. And silage can just be piled and covered to ensile, we put up about 2500 tons of it each year, both hay and cereal silage.
In fact, I’m prepping the swather right now to start cutting for a silage chopper showing up this week.
