I hope that’s real brick behind that. I’ve seen some pretty gnarly damage from people using their BBQs too close to the side of the house.

I see he leaned left right before the end there. His fans should be outraged.

Those ones actually work better. The short, sharp shock ones can be hit at speed if you have a good suspension. The slow ones like that will lift the rear end off the ground if you go too fast, they’re way more effective.

Me too, but you’d figure those MDF baseboards would be stained as well. They puff up and look waterlogged at the merest hint of water.

In the millennia we’ve had domestic chickens of all shapes and sizes, but nobody has bred a silent rooster? I just don’t get that.

- Comment on A fossil-fuel plant seeing nuclear coming... 3 weeks ago:
Overall, I agree. I run my own yard offgrid with solar and battery, but I still end up firing up the generator a fair bit in winter because the demand periods don’t match the production peak.
But it seems like that’s just a scaling problem, and it seems like a few billion spent on batteries is a less technical solution than a fission plant, depending on the design and scale. But it hasn’t really happened yet, even in China where the parts are produced. They’re further along, but they’re still firing up coal and nuclear at a scale unmatched by the western countries right now, alongside record solar production. So something in that theory isn’t lining up.

Renewables often have storage issues since they aren’t on demand.

Add Kraft to that list. I used to eat that stuff all the time as a kid, then I started to eat natural peanut butter and couldn’t stomach that other garbage anymore. And if you buy the good stuff by the tub, it’s cheaper, you just have to mix it.
