The real enemy isn’t the other guy higher up the hierarchy who earns double or triple your salary for his work. It’s the guy who doesn’t need to work at all because he owns the company you both work for. It used to be one fat fuck in a suit and you knew his face, but now these fuckers are in the stock market and each one owns just a share of each company. And they have learned to not show their faces in public.

I can think of a pretty clear causal chain that leads from union membership to better wages for the most vulnerable groups and thus to a more balanced wage distribution. You don’t need a degree in economics to understand the connection.

Many people who are benefitting from the status quo would prefer you to not pay too much attention to large scale systemic problems and would rather have you fight some stupid, meaningless side battle. Unfortunately, many of these people own the news outlets that are shaping the public discourse.
Journalism is interested in clicks and ad revenue. We can’t rely on them to go for the real problems when their chasing trend topics like a meth addict chasing the next high.

Spot on. Journalism today is a joke. They’re owned by billionaires and mostly care about clicks and ad revenue, so they milk every stupid trend rather than go for the topics that really matter.
Politicians get too easily distracted. You don’t have to answer every bullshit question or take a position on every stupid trend topic. If a journalist doesn’t do his job properly, tell them off, or even address the viewers and their actual real-life struggles directly.

Of course he says this. Everybody knew he would say this. Don’t waste any emotions and time on this.

Wait a few years and you won’t even need a computer to play that game.

We don’t need donations, we just need to tax them at the same level we’re taxing regular workers. And since their fortunes are growing at double digit rates, a small annual wealth tax wouldn’t hurt them either.

Ah, The Orb, absolute classic. Sometimes people would get out of their cars to check out our contraption. Their abandoned cars would be found weeks later in the old creek. Good old times.

My renter complained that her dishwasher was broken. Bought her a new dishwasher. Complaints stopped because dishwasher works.
