- Comment on For years, I suspected MI5 interfered in the miners’ strike. The truth was even more shocking than I thought | Mark Hollingsworth 8 months ago:
I'm confused after reading this? So during this strike, a court ordered the union to pay some money, instead the union moved its money into overseas accounts, and a politicians worked with MI5 to track these accounts down and freeze them?
Like I fully support the union, but I thought it was going to be something serious such as MI5 infiltrating the union and becoming agent provocateurs, this just seems rather tame and less shocking than I expected.
- Comment on Russia pulls out of fishing deal and tells Britons to 'lose weight' 8 months ago:
It was known earlier among Russians as the Northern Sea, Pomorsky Sea or Murman Sea ("Norse Sea");
So the sea is historically Norse, and as know russia is big on respecting historical owners, thus that this sea belongs to the Norsemen.
- Comment on Why do people wear shoes inside the house? 8 months ago:
I generally don’t just because i enjoy the freedom of wiggley toes, but I’m not adverse to it either.
Theres no snow or mud where I am and most of the places I walk in are cleaned daily (Work, shops). Honestly its just not a big deal for me here in Australia, shit people walk down the street or in stores with no shoes at all, so who cares eh. Bit of dust gets on the floor at home big deal, ill clean it on a weekend.

- Comment on Nine digitally altered female MP into 'more revealing' outfit 9 months ago:
You're both half wrong.
There is code behind the scenes, but the training data is separate to the code. The training data is going to be scrapped from the web and it's going to be biased towards whatever is common on the Internet, the 'schoolboys' writing the code aren't exactly responsible for that, blame the media and what it influences mainly.
- Comment on Nine digitally altered female MP into 'more revealing' outfit 9 months ago:
It’s completely bullshit because nothing about her in the photo has been outpainted, its purely infilling.

If you steal content from creatives, does that not put them out of work?

But you're all for stealing content willy-nilly?
And this is being offered to people without it being a privately owned blackbox.
Feels kinda inconsistent.

- Comment on Why do democrats want this in schools ? 9 months ago:
Why is it not appropriate for a 12 year old?
12 year olds can watch movies and play games of people violently being murdered, but sex is off the limits?
What if a child was being abused and reading through another child’s account of abuse empowers them to speak to?

I’m curious about how different Gen Z is from Millennials here, because everyone in my age range seems to share this sentiment with them?

- Comment on UK government sets out plans for ‘biggest nuclear power expansion in 70 years’ 10 months ago:
Ramping up nuclear is not instant and is not ideal because it causes more waste by altering the working lifetime of the fuel.
- Comment on UK government sets out plans for ‘biggest nuclear power expansion in 70 years’ 10 months ago:
And renewables are quicker, cheaper, and lower footprint.
Its a no brainer. People need to let go of ‘50s nuclear romanticism.
- Comment on UK government sets out plans for ‘biggest nuclear power expansion in 70 years’ 10 months ago:
Nuclear is not renewable energy.
It’s not even green energy.
Renewables are the superior choice in price and effect.

It’s the same in English, saying thanks or please doesn’t really matter, the only difference is putting the nice part before or after the request.

I have fond memories of "competing" for high post counts back on forums, which just came down to talking a lot and easy wins like "what are you listening to" threads.
Anyway yeah, the thing you don't want already exists here. It's not the end of the world if some people want to chase a number.
