- Comment on 'Is it in or out?': The granny flat question in the negative gearing debate 1 week ago:
Yes, just another example of our system being very favourable to owners and investors over those with less in the bank. It could have been exemption from GST if you make less than a certain amount for example - boost those struggling not those already winning.

Yep. They wouldn’t want to show their hand too much.

This time, Housing Minister Clare O’Neil gave the final answer to the question: Granny flats cannot be negatively geared.
“An established property recently extended a free-standing house constructed through a knock-down rebuild, replacing an older, smaller free-standing house, a granny flat built adjacent to an established property, that isn’t eligible for negative gearing,” she said.

So… do the cops just start suspecting you?
Literally yes, they are not particularly great thinkers and work a lot from assumption.

Maybe feed the scraps to chickens then eat their eggs? Seems cleaner and easier.
I would much rather that than eating someone else’s roats lamb from a month ago, even if it were “processed” (I guess you mean dehydrated ?)

More shit than a blocked toilet in a pub after a week of cleaner’s strikes. Is that the brand?

If they are very devout they have probably been taught that homosexuality is a sin. They didn’t know what to say so went with “that’s nice”
That’s what I would expect anyway.
- Comment on Do people actually believe those "gurus" on the internet that supposedly "give advice"? These seems very sussy and feel scam-adjacent, isn't it? 5 months ago:
Some do apparently or they wouldn’t keep making the videos. Same thing for people who send out phishing emails and other scams. It must work sometimes.
“Spiritual gurus”, “self help gurus”, “crypto gurus”, “business gurus” they tend to be full of shit because if they were as good as they claim they would be making money with their skills and insights instead of making YouTube videos.
Why people fall for it just because someone claims to be an “expert” I will never understand, but I guess you could say the same about many things: advertising, politics, religion etc.
- Comment on Is "depress" ever used in this context? 5 months ago:
It’s weird because the words desynchronize, de-stress, decriminalize mean un-synchronize, un-stress, un-criminalize
So it would seem like depress should mean un-press (let go of the button).
But depress = press !
- Comment on Armed Zionist Militia to Patrol Australia's Streets 5 months ago:
Guardian article here: theguardian.com/…/jewish-community-security-group…
The NSW CSG, which describes itself as a mixture of security professionals and trained volunteers, records antisemitic incidents and assesses the level of threat to the community, which its website says is currently at the highest level – critical.
It is run through the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies and funded by Jewish community organisations. It has received grants from federal and state governments.
Under NSW’s Security Industry Act, CSG also holds a “master licence”, meaning it can provide licensed security staff in the state. Its ME class licence allows it to provide the maximum number of more personnel, 50 or more.
