  It’s not really science-y, but expanding foam is a type of glue and will glue to everything it can. I got expanding foam everywhere including all over my hands for about a week. They were just crusty, not glued to stuff.

  That said for me it depends on the dog and how the dog is feeling right then. My dig is half Chihuahua, he’ll like on the concreted in the backyard on 40+ days when everyone is posting about how it’s dangerous for dogs to be out in the heat. I’ve known a bunch of kelpies - Australian working farm dogs - that are just fine in the heat as long as it’s not extreme.

  Having a dog is a magnet for other dogs on walks. They often want to say hi to each other, sometimes they’re dicks about it.

  I have a small dog and it’s a bunch of work. He barks when left alone for too long, needs a walk twice a day. Food, water, vet, meds and I’ll eventually have to get him put down. I like my dog, I’m happy to give him a good life, I’m not planning on getting another.

  Work boots - Redback - until they split at the bridge and water gets in - ~4 years. Runners - Asics Trail Running shoes - until the foam in the sole has worn down. 1500km (8km/day dog walking).
  Crocks - Until they’re fucked. Had them two years now.
  Birkenstocks - Until they’re fucked. Had them six years now. Self replacing the sole was a waste of time for me. I’ll but another pair sometime but I only wear them a few months of the year.
