oh yeah it’s huge. As of right now Pandemic Horde have lost over 16,000 characters that have quit the alliance. they’re pretty much done. End of an era.

What helped me when I was a kid were games like Quake 3 Arena, Worms, and Mechwarrior 2, 3, and 4.
Q3A was because of the speed. you had to be fast with the mouse if you hoped to compete. Add to the fact that the bots in Q3A, at the time anyways, were quite good. you can play it offline with bots or even over a local LAN.
Again going back to a LAN staple but Worms is also good. you need precision with the mouse on that one. lots of geometry at play.
Finally the Mechwarrior games which really emphasize the mouse and keyboard combination. Torso Twisting and Flicking, positioning of your legs in regards to your torso, etc. really helps with mouse coordination.

I play EVE Online soooooo this happens daily? multiple times a day?
The political dramas in that game could put actual real world political drama to shame. I mean take what’s currently happening in game right now. A massive alliance named Pandemic Horde decided to evacuate the space they held. fair enough, the issue? Leadership made the announcement they were leaving said space and then…leadership quit. in the same message. Thus all the regular members, literally hundreds of them if not well over 1000, were left on their own in hostile space with all their assets stuck in stations that were now actively being shot at and destroyed by opposing alliances. The players are essentially stuck because all the upper leadership of Pandemic Horde have the massive capital ships that they could have used to save their members by getting them out of system or aiding in destroying the attackers but they said nope, we’re not going to do that. It’s a cluster fuck.

Loved the first game. I still have my Max Payne mouse pad that came with it. Second one was alright. I don’t think I ever finished the third.

I have used fedi.video and add/follow various instances I find to mine but I’m not sure if I don’t have my peertube configured correctly or what but it’s not pulling up anything decent.
- Comment on 1 week ago:
Pixelfed is easier to use so you’re right.
Peertube is fine but trying to find good content or a good instance is a struggle still. Frendica i’ve signed up for but really haven’t used (in fact I think the instance I signed up on is dead).
I mean I even run my own peertube instance and I barely use it because I just can’t find anything good to watch on it other than a couple tech channels that update once in a blue moon.
- Comment on Sliced off the tip of my thumb, what are some good one handed games? 1 week ago:
Sins of a Solar Empire. It’s a space based strategy game that I’ve sunk hours into. years ago I used to have really shotty internet so it would go down all the time. I’d play that game for 8 hours a pop easily and the time would just fly by. I’m not even a big strategy gamer but I adored that game.
- Comment on Which year was the most stacked for game releases? 1 week ago:
2001 or 2011.
2001 easily had the most games that were highly rated and as others have said you some real classics. The PS2 was hitting it’s stride, the original Xbox Launched, and the Gamecube was right there.
2011 also had some damn amazing games: Arkham City, Portal 2, Skyrim, Skyward Sword, Minecraft, Mortal Kombat 9, Starcraft II, Bastion, Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3 to name a few.
- Comment on We could have lived in a world where Hideo Kojima made a Matrix game, if only someone had told him he was offered to make one 1 week ago:
Well the Wachowskis have said in the past that The Matrix Online is canon as they wanted to hand the story of The Matrix over to the fans/players to do with it as they wished. They approved of Morpheus’ death in the game so I suppose that’s why it’s kinda vague in Resurrections as to how he died. Either because of the events of the game where he was killed by an assassin or simply from old age.
As far as how he was reborn in the movie he was basically “coded in” to a “Matrix Modal” by Neo and the Machines. Resurrections Morpheus was like a hybrid of Morpheus and Agent Smith. The whole explanation was the machines needed Neo to kind of remember but not quite fully remember that he was the One because it generated a lot of power for them combined with keeping Trinity in close proximity. So the Machines were kind of constantly dangling a carrot in front of Neos face. They also had to keep constantly changing his DSI (Digital Self Image) so the humans would have a hard time finding him.
So the Morpheus in Resurrections wasn’t the “real” morpheus but a program that had Morpheus’ “code”. that’s why he didn’t have a body in the real world because unlike Neo and Trinity there was no body to put him in.
- Comment on Pornhub says UK visitors down 77% since age checks came in 1 week ago:
As someone who witnessed them eating up ALL their competition first hand, you’re right. They bought EVERYONE out. in my time in the adult industry I worked for 3 separate companies and Manwin bought them all. TWICE I was offered a job by them and to move to Montreal after being laid off from two companies that they bought and both times I turned them down simply because of their reputation within the industry.
One company I worked for was named Twistys/Pink Visual based in Toronto and they were bought by Manwin. A few people I know decided to move to Montreal to work at pornhub since they worked on Gaytube, SexTube, TrannyTube, etc and would be in charge of those sites at pornhub. They all moved back to Toronto within the spawn of a few months because it was a horrible place to work. Pornhub has always presented itself online as cool and hip to modern trends but behind the scenes it’s anything but. I mean all the cool statistics and stuff they constantly present was built on the back of a guy from Tucson Arizona that worked for another porn company there that they bought. They promptly fired him after he essentially taught them his tools. Dude moved to Montreal from Arizona and everything. uprooted his family to move to Canada. He lasted maybe a year.
There was also a point where the adult actors were looking to unionize. It was largely spear headed by Sasha Grey. Manwin/Pornhub in part was very quick to squash that.
- Comment on Pornhub says UK visitors down 77% since age checks came in 1 week ago:
as someone who used to work in the adult entertainment industry years and years ago Manwin/Pornhub was always known as the “McDonalds of Porn”. You go there because you don’t know any better and just want a quick session.
If you want niche stuff, truly amateur stuff, you’ll go else where. So you’re not wrong, there are a lot more places that simply ignore these rules. For the vast majority as long as they’re following 2257 rules they couldn’t give a rats ass about any other countries rules. Why? because most of the big payment processors i.e. places like CCBill, are in the US so it’s more important to play by the US’ rules than anywhere else so Affiliates and what have you can continue to be paid.

I don’t care what anyone says RE0 is still my favourite in the series.
- Comment on Konami instantly shot down the Wachowskis’ request to have Hideo Kojima make a Matrix game, it’s claimed [VGC] 2 weeks ago:
From a lore point of view, they’re not that bad and it all makes sense when you consider what the Wachowskis were TRYING to do. All the sequels and all the media associated with the sequels were ambitious to say the least. Reloaded, 4 shorts from the Animatrix, Enter The Matrix (the game), and a collection of comics all tie together the overall lore. it’s a lot. Basically back in the day if you wanted the COMPLETE story for Reloaded you had to watch like 2 shorts from the Animatrix and play Enter The Matrix. The issue is for the third film, while it was filmed at the same time as Reloaded, doesn’t really expand on some of the stuff revealed in the other media that tied into Reloaded.
The third film simply felt like was something that was forced on the Wachowskis by Warner Bros. Like I imagine very little was cut from both films because they really couldn’t cut anything and it was clearly evident they NEEDED to cut stuff.
All that being said The Matrix Online continues the story and expands the lore, which was canon, and it actually got quite a bit better.
- Comment on Amazon cutting thousands of corporate roles [including video games] 2 weeks ago:
The layoffs also hit Twitch which has had a notorious bot problem for years. So now they’re going to use bots to fight bots?
Honestly the best thing Amazon could do is just shut down twitch completely. It’s become a dumpster fire of its former self. It used to be about people playing games and now it’s about which streamer is sexually assaulting which other streamer and dudes putting shock collars on dogs.
- Comment on Halo community lead wears PlayStation t-shirt to announce: ‘Halo is on PlayStation going forward’ [VGC] 2 weeks ago:
why would I want to go through the first Halo campaign yet again when I know I’m eventually going to get to the level with the flood where EVERY ROOM looks exactly the same and I’m just going to turn it off.
I know what’s going to happen, I know what’s ahead of me, I know I don’t want to do that again.
Now if they redid ODST or Reach? sure I’d be all for that. I enjoy those Halo games. but for gods sake I don’t want to play Halo 1 ever again.

to be fair there are many games that are like Getting Over it or Balatro or even Vampire Survivors it’s just many of them aren’t as successful or known as those games.
