On one hand I understand showing empathy and highlighting that people might be going through mental issues, abuse. However laziness and lack personal responsibility should always be considered as well.

I just wanted to highlight the personal responsibility part. Otherwise I agree.

Each person is the result of their genetics, upbringing, friend circle, life experiences etc. Having the best parents doesn’t guarantee you turning out well.
Also nothing personal but using big words like this when you can express much simpler, comes off very pretentious.

Honestly your take feels wild to me as well. Sure you should teach your kids how to take care themselves, but at some point they are an adult and have to take the responsibility for their own lives.
If people don’t have to take personal responsibility what stops them from taking advantage of it? Like you could have the best parents, but claim they messed you up, so refuse to work and leech of them for the rest of your life.

I don’t get why it is parents responsibility if they are 24 and dont have any disabilities. Isn’t it only parents jobs to take care of you till you are 18.
