I see there was a fundamental misunderstanding, you see I thought you meant that 100k wasn’t enough for someone to survive on, you simply meant that Software engineers have high standards.

How? That’s over double what I make in a year, living in America too. Are game devs required to like eat something super expensive every day?

Nah, when I say this I’m referring to when my temperature goes from (in fahrenheit) -5, to almost 50, to 10 degrees in only 4 days. Got rain one day and snow the next.

I hate this idea of “us defaultism” being labeled on anything that even remotely involves the US. This isnt us defaultism, this is someone from the US sharing something about the US worded to be for someone for the US. I see this numerous different times with different topics for different countries, but I don’t go “oh this is German defaultism, oh this is Zimbabwean defaultism.” It’s a fun fact that you’re taking too seriously because you have a hate boner for the US, which is honestly fair.

Its just how we say dates, probably came from how we often verbally say dates, like “oh hey it’s February 18th, 2026”
Don’t act like your countries don’t have weird specific things either.

Most rooms I’ve seen have the light switch right next the door, most bedrooms don’t also keep their bed right next to the door. I’m assuming most people also don’t want to run wire through the walls wherever they’re renting/living.

Nah, Amazon and airbndn do not remotely have comparable service to steam, I’ve personally had shitty experiences with both and no many others who have as well. I have many personal gripes with numerous of their business models, and those have deserved hate to them. I’ve never personally had any negative experience with steam, nor has any singular person I know or have met and talked to steam about. I use the service daily, along with all of my friends, and its has been nothing but amazing, and has provided stellar service to me and all my friends for over a decade. The second a better service comes along, I’d be willing to switch, but as it stands every single other online gaming service is straight shit compared to steam, even Gog is going down the drain. I owe the ability to even play a third of the games I own to the work steam has done with proton. Everything I know and have seen about their work flow is also incredibly respectable, it seems to be an incredibly healthy Democratic work environment that promotes innovation and quality of content over pumping out bullshit. So far, the only reasoning I’ve seen you give as to why steam is bad is that they’re a monopoly, which not only is false, but the accusations have only come on because of how massively successful they are due to having an objectively better service than anything else out there.

I defend it because I love the service, and have used it for over a decade. I again will wait until the results of these lawsuits, as steam has won every other monopoly lawsuit in the past, and I personally believe for good reason as described in my comment above.

Idk, I think 30% is perfectly fair considering what a massive market steam is and the huge amount of publicity you get from putting it on steam. I’ll agree that by certain definitions steam is a monopoly, but they aren’t committing any anti competition practices, and this is further proven by them taking the standard 30% if they wanted to they could only take 10%, and that would probably be seen as anti competition by quite a few countries, as many other companies couldn’t deal with trying to make their percentage lower. Steam is essentially being the standard here, and if any other service wanted to take a smaller cut they could, and developers would turn to it more often. For instance, itch.io. if steam were a true monopoly, you could be certain that itch.io wouldn’t exist anymore. Ill change my mind on this when steam loses a SINGLE monopoly lawsuit, and until then you guys need to do more research on actual monopolies.

This is a really bad representation lmao, you’re giving an example of Finland in like mid winter comparing it to the reaction of someone who literally never sees winter. My state has had around -30°c for the last 2 weeks, been chilling, I’ve definitely preferred when it’s been getting closer to -20 to -10 which has been funny, actually enjoying temperatures under freezing, but I don’t get what your comments trying to say. It’s not like Finland is that temperature all year lol, the climate of my city is surprisingly similar to a lot of Finland and I gotta say being in the cold still sucks.

No, it’s just in response to the countless number of non Americans who constantly insult Americans because we have a slightly different measurement system that doesn’t effect the insulter in the slightest. It doesn’t help that anyone in the sciences in America do know metric, like fully, no one has a problem using it here and I know plenty of people even outside of the sciences that know enough metric to get by fine, you guys really need to get over your strange obsession with our measurement system.

Nah, from personal experience of hundreds upon hundreds of trips your come up time doesn’t have any noticable time increase or decrease depending on where you keep the tab. The only thing I’ve ever had change the speed of the come up, was potency of the tab, aka quantity of LSD, not the location of it. Sure, if you took it intravenously it would likely go noticably faster, but otherwise any time difference would be practically negligible between consistent doses.

Well yeah, if you only go to McDonald’s or Taco Bell then you’ll get diarrhea, but there’s plenty of food and restaurants around the entirety of the us that has phenomenal food. However looking at your post history proves to me you don’t care about facts and only about insulting people and their ideals, and seemingly everyone on the internet enjoys nothing but shitting on Americans no matter the circumstance, so I know this will fall on deaf ears.
