  The key is being consistent and transparent. We got gut punched by the Steam Machine price, but it was an expected and transparent outcome. XBOX and Sony are so volatile that it’s making Steam look like a saint. From laying people off, to constant price increases, to the disc situation. Both these companies need to chill tf out.

  From what I remember it seemed like a linear game rather than open world (which is ok). The reason I don’t think it’s anything special is because I’ve played another game which is much less demanding and just as fun if not more. …steampowered.com/…/The_Adventures_of_Sir_Kicksal…

  So to me it seems like what sets Fatekeeper apart from a game like Sir Kicksalot is its graphics, which isn’t a priority for me which is why I refunded Fatekeeper.

  I understand because I play Monster Hunter Wilds and the GPU does work a lot. It’s just that if I make the GPU work, then it should be for an exceptional game, like MHWilds.

  My GPU got loud (7900xt) when I played it. It’s an ok game but not worth deteriorating your PC.

  Cachy is a trap that a lot of people allow newer users to fall in. Right after a fresh install I immediately experienced annoyances so I dropped it. It’s really just Arch with an easy install which means you’re signing up to troubleshoot a lot. You might have to distro hop until you the l find a good long term distro.

  If what they claim is true then they’re actually doing a good job. It’s just that even with the significant advancements… I don’t trust them. They should be working on their PR as well. More lawsuits in favor of consumers like the Apple lawsuit they had would help move people over.

  I think people want to amplify this to justify staying on Steam. “Steam has DRM but at least they’re not Nazis! So I’ll take the moral approach and only use Steam.” When in reality it’s just a matter of convenience but portrayed as a moral decision.

  It’s also odd that I couldn’t change hotkeys in 2024. If they’re cutting corners at that level then is it really worth spending my time given that there are other games that scratch that itch with better customizations?

  Modpacks are just a list of chores to do with no real sense of overall progress. I’ve tried a few and always have to learn the systems through wikis, not the game. They involved so much learning that I decided I would just code and do side projects because at least that’s more fun.

  It’s missing a lot of QoL features in vanilla but people spend a lot of time curating the perfect set of mods for their server. It’s too much work for me but it’s an autistic person’s dream.
