Earlier this year I was considering upgrading my desktop to 64GB, but didn’t want to upgrade straight from 32GB to 64GB because I was using DDR4. If I was gonna buy an upgrade I wanted it to be to DDR5, but that would have involved a processor and motherboard upgrade that would have cost almost $500 combined (including the RAM). Ultimately I decided against it because of the cost (I don’t actually need a processor upgrade) and figured I’d buy down the line when I needed to.
Now the RAM alone is the cost of the entire upgrade. Bonkers.

Yeah this one certainly doesn’t look like it’s hunting at all - not saying it wouldn’t attack him if it could get to him, but it seems a lot more curious than aggressive.

If you make it pretty often at all, a Dash hard boiled egg cooker is a great investment. But it’s only worth it if you’re hard boiling eggs a lot.

I think it would work better if the weapons were firing at the sleeping kid directly from the soldier

Yeah, they are models for a stock photographer - www.istockphoto.com/photos/antonio-guillem
It’s pretty funny because all three of the models in the distracted boyfriend meme are used in a bunch of situations
The walking girl is the girlfriend’s dentist
The couple works together and the fallout is awkward
The dentist tries to apologize to hlthe girlfriend, but girlfriend only pretends to forgive her
Etc.

Yes, you’re correct but that’s why I said it was a “working” definition. When you’re a botanist (like many of my former professors) you still use the word vegetable in discussion. They would often teach us about local plants with indigenous uses using plain language like “the Chumash used the leaves of this plant as an important part of their vegetable intake”, rather than using some clinical term like “edible plant matter” or whatever.
I was only saying in these contexts, they definitely wouldn’t describe fruits as vegetables because fruit are a specific thing to a botanist. They definitely wouldn’t describe fungi as vegetables because they are also a specific thing to a botanist (not relevant 😂)
So in a scientific setting the word vegetable is still used, but it is mostly defined by what it’s not!

Great post, with one caveat
the closest thing to a definition we have for “vegetable” botanically is “literally all plant life and maybe also some fungi,”
I got my degree in Ecology and Evolution, and we always used a similar working definition but it was “edible parts of a plant which are not fruit.”
