- Comment on How do I actually find a job that isn't retail? 1 week ago:
I worked retail and retail adjacent for almost 20 years. I just started a corporate job for a very big electronics company. The answer?
Know people.
I know it sucks to hear, but it really truly is who you know. I got lucky once but it’s seriously all about the connections you make. Your best bets are from informal friends. People who know you well enough to say you’d be good for a job, but they’re not invested in you either being there or not.
The only reason I am where I am now is because I made connections. Read the book “How to Win Friends and Influence People” if you’re an introvert. It helped me understand how people view each other’s interactions better.
There’s a lot of remote jobs too that you can start looking into. Use your retail planning and selling experience for remote sales roles or remote account management.

Surprised I haven’t seen Hell Pie here yet. Pretty solid physics and fun mechanics. The humor is a bit crude and sometimes kinda edge-lord l, but the game play is solid.
Ruffy and the Riverside. Really interesting concept with editing terrain and your environment.
Gex Trilogy is pretty good if you’re into old-school platformers. It aged better than I thought.
Megabonk is basically 3D vampire survivors, and that rules.
- Comment on Video Game Physical Software and Hardware Sales Just Had the Worst November in the U.S. Since 1995 - IGN 3 months ago:
Switch 2 has a much healthier margin than Switch. Nintendo is actually making money on the hardware this time. They don’t have the lineup or the services to justify the hardware being a loss leader and won’t until probably 2027.
Here’s to hoping the Steam Machine is $799 or less.

Good, maybe now prices for them will finally come back down to reality. $500 for a switch is bonkers and $800 for an Xbox of any variety is outright criminal.

This kind of game sounds right up my alley. I would love to help in some way.

So wise-cracking self-aware platformers are back now? Cool.

Resident Evil on a treadmill isn’t strenuous?! Mad lad territory.
I love a simple but satisfying puzzle game like Peggle, Nubbys Number Factory, Hexic, Lumines etc
- Comment on ROG Xbox Ally Is $700 And Xbox Ally X Is $1050 9 months ago:
I think people underestimate what consumers are actually willing to pay for high end gaming hardware. Their pitch is going to be that it’s a PC with Xbox compatibility. For most gamers looking at this, their competing option would be a gaming laptop.
Or it could be a fat fucking flop cause it’s overpriced and has a stupid fucking name.

If memory serves me right, this was supposed to be a “Steamboat Willie” game originally. When the copyright expired this was one of the trailers I remember making headlines. It looks like they decided to make it their own. Honestly it looks so well done, I’m happy they just decided to do their own thing.
