Oh, you can still do that in some apps, but I thought that’s only to figure out the amazing formatting that some comments use!

This is becoming less of an issue as US Mobile has anti-SIM-hijacking protection; hopefully other carriers will follow suit. Of course, the carriers themselves can still read your msgs, but so can WhatsApp, probably (despite their claims to the contrary).

I don’t think the original text before edits is viewable by anyone other than possibly instance admins.

Interesting. I’ve actually never heard of them automatically logging out. That’s partly why I am hesitant to log in in the first place.

While I’m not speaking for the Lemmyzen you replied to, some purists feel self-shame from “having” to use difficulty slashers and would literally rather just not play the game at all/watch someone play it competently as it was meant to be played on YouTube or something. I may or may not be one of them…

Planet of Lana, while kinda neat, is a linear story. There are almost no places to explore other than the scripted path. It’s not even a Metroidvania, so I don’t think it belongs on this list. With that said, the story is pretty interesting and I played and beat it and look forward more to PoL 2.

Actually, Bloomberg Finance recently warned about how the cattle replacement level is precariously low in the US. It takes a minimum of a one-year forecast to gauge how many dairy cows will be born to reach milk production status, and apparently farmers are having a difficult time with all the debt and limited resources hampering them. Because of the US’s red meat addiction, we are currently at best only at minimum replacement, which is really concerning until the nation reduces some of its cattle consumption; otherwise, beef prices will continue to rise…

Bioaccumulation of mercury, lead, etc., or too many vitamins: the more organisms in total eaten on the way to the one you eat. Herbivores have significantly fewer. A few bites of polar bear liver will send you into acute vitamin A overdose with permanent effects, if not death. Another one: Why Don’t We Eat Carnivores?
- Comment on Mermaid 2 months ago:
Yes, most of the toxins were discovered and recorded by people who observed the desperate, effectively.
- Comment on Mermaid 2 months ago:
Pet/food decisions are mostly based on carnivore/herbivore type. Eating carnivorous animals poisons us over time, among other issues.
- Comment on U.S. consumers are so fucked up, that they put more than $1 billion on buy-now, pay later services during Cyber Monday 6 months ago:
Um, they absolutely do. Stop by /r/churning if you’d like evidence; it’s one of the main reasons BNPL services aside from credit cards are not used much there.

For the

The easiest way to implement this is to avoid the IoT entirely. I strive to avoid any smart products that cannot be perpetually used offline (a.k.a. most of them).
