TY for the post, been keeping a eye out for open reg so I don’t need to accept invite (personal pref to prefer to wait and recruit/open reg in) I’ll get FNP added to my cross-seed setup so I can start getting my brr on

I’m thrilled were still making games like this.

Ugh I mean I know we have block and are encouraged to do it, but there’s only so much I feel like doing. I’m at a point of nearly instant banning any community that sounds copy/paste from reddit

Not convinced the masses will go back, they will keep flocking to whatever’s hyped and new. Many countries only know web2.0 as the internet and never experienced the wild west, their world is Facebook and whatsapp

Starting to feel like reddit and its low effort crap is starting to make its way here too

I despise the centralized web and actively avoid it. But there are some things I don’t want to go back to, gore and other shock stuff comes to mind.
Posting on forums and finding random websites, GeoCities, tripod, chatting on IRC… These were the days.
I wish I’d never stopped using IRC for chat tbh

We create tech these days to extract maximum value from the populace, not so much to make lives better

Jesus what, a week or so ago this was dead in the water.

This is Xerxes. Can you not feel the glory of the flesh? Do you not yearn to be free of the tyranny of the individual?

I recently somehow broke my Boox page, and I replaced it with a PocketBook Era. It’s my favourite device, great battery life, integrated with calibre like a dream and the OS is really nice to use after fighting android on the Boox.

- Comment on Anon considers LASIK 1 month ago:
I got LASIK about 10 years ago. Can confirm both the visual experience of watching them laser/scalpel my lens off, as well as the highly unique smell of buring eye. Along with the painful light sensitivity that persisted for like a year. Hell I got a USB at the end with a video of the procedure to relive.
Totally worth it though

It’s been wild watching the tech grow since Atari 2600!

If you think that’s rough, growing up with the classic makes it really rough to see them force a generic extraction shooter into a beloved franchise for no reason

I’ll be doing my part defending Super Earth on Friday night. With a whiskey. On Bazzite, it runs fine on Linux.

Blue prince, Bauldars Gate 3, little assasins creed 1 on the deck. Finished Dave the diver last week, it was great!

Surprisingly yes. We went off for a few months of Factorio space age, but it’s still going and a nice level of jump-in-and play that suits us. Mind you we have nothing to spend out resources on and only missing 3 warbonds, it’s just a nice gameplay loop

It’s Friday, I’ve been helldiving with mates, had a few whiskeys, and it’s Easter with the family & egg hunt with the kids shortly. Things could be much worse than this.

Yeah that’s also true, tbh I’ve been notorious for not getting into’ anything - I don’t personally follow game news or hype much in the last 10-15 years, I’l wait until my friends pressure me into ‘you have to consume X!’, often well after it’s out and forgotten. I let my friends be the canary in the gold mine, still not sure if that makes me a bad friend… Has helped me avoid amazing TV shows that get cancelled/shit the bed though (still haven’t forgiven GoT producers)

Yeah for sure, I’ve been fairly focussed on indies the last 5-7 years and only jump on AAA after it’s released and reviews are in/on special. I believe there’s only so large a human run corporation can be before it turns into an unmanageable mess and quality/focus of the product suffers, and most AAA are well past that point. Indies are the new small-medium sized fun Devs.

Love painkiller, here’s hoping they don’t wiff this. That said, not getting hopes up just yet

For sure! I definitely feel we’ve drastically slowed down but media is by no means dead. It can be harder to find the gems than before in some regards though.
