Seems to me like it stems from over engineered sledding.

Sure, and as a consumer of a product, you are within your rights to do so. But I think that a lot of times there’s an underlying thread of entitlement that comes with a lot of the criticisms. The tone suggests more ,“how dare you make something I can’t play” and less “I’m not suited for this challenge”. There’s surprisingly little in the way of complaints about the game design that read as things that fit the theme and game vision. There are a few, but most aren’t.
And full disclosure I’m speaking from the standpoint of someone who while interested in a lot of the “git gud” genre games, can cut it 90% of the time. It took me realizing that I just wasn’t who those games were for before I was able to look at some of my options and realize.they were just me and my sour grapes.

I have to agree. Although I would have said “the real easy difficulty is realizing that not every game is for you”. And sometimes that includes really popular games, ones that everyone else seems to be enjoying. And that’s ok.

Sure, but “idiot” comes in every color. Like I don’t know…someone who’d mainline semen?

I’d argue that being a humanist you would want the species of human to be able to propagate itself and continue moving forward If we stop the evolutionary process that is survival of the fittest that it’s truest form then we are by definition muddling our own ability to survive as a species.

What could have possibly been the logic there? Like with clowns who shot up bleach to fight COVID at least that was a cleaning supply that kills viruses and germs.

It’s because Balatro and small indies that catch fire threaten the bloated dinosaurs that are the AAA franchises.

I clocked its ending as you became a convalescence of all Bookers, and since all the Elizabeths kill you it stops you in every timeline in which you exist.

The problem with turning off cross play on Xbox is if the access through the game bar or game pass it treats it the same as the console.
- Comment on What game sequel ruined a beloved franchise or character for you? 5 weeks ago:
Dragon Age 2 ruined Dragon Age for me.
Mass Effect 3’s ending soured me to anything EA until Titanfall 2 was less than $20.
I’m sure I’m forgetting a few more ones but those two stand out the most.

I hate using this analogy because it showcases how much of a glutton I am but: a full release game should feel like a full meal. It can leave you wanting more but it should satisfy first. DLC is meant to be dessert. Something nice and extra after the fact. Wilds felt like an appetizer. Like it was prepping you for something more.

But that involves self regulation. And being able to resist temptation. And they’d just rather have temptation removed before they could encounter.

They have a little power in politics now, “give them an inch and they take a mile” is never not true.

It has been my experience that when either side says that they are against cancel culture it’s not about being against the ability to ruin or deprive their enemies of something. They’re against their enemies having the ability to do the same thing to them.

I agree with your statement, but we are currently seeing politicians actively ignore their constituents wishes on policy.

It’s…not great. But it’s one of those “not great” games I can’t seem to stop playing. It’s a mech based extraction shooter. The shooting is floaty and all over the place, the loot is either materials for making things or crystals that become currency once you extract.

The only choice it really limits from the publisher is the choice to decide to stop supporting a game out of nowhere. This new plan would just make it so you have to eventually plan to sunset the game from its “live” elements.
