I think the answer is that they are incompetent but also that they are lying about their capabilities. Why else have they rushed everything so much and promised so much?
They don’t really care about the fallout, they are just here to make big promises and large amounts of money on their shiny new tech.
- Comment on Should I unplug my smart tv from the internet? 4 days ago:
Yes.
As someone in a similar situation, entertainment PC connected, I’ve never connected my smart TV to the internet. There is no need.

This is why I stopped recycling and put everything in the trash.
For one I was so sad when I found out what a scam it is that such a small amount of stuff is actually recycled and especially plastic never was actually planned to be recycled.
Two, I’d rather most of the plastic end up in our own landfill than to be shipped overseas into someone else’s or just end up in the ocean. We deserve to poison our own land thanks to our politicians not holding corporations to account.

- Comment on So um, america just started another war in the middle east. We're going to need a shit ton more memes to distract americans from the nightmare they are enduring. Thanks in advance... 1 month ago:
Honestly though, despite all the protections put in place, it has taken just one person with no morals to ignore them all and as long as he and his cronies(lets not give him too much credit) stacked the other branches with his supporters he has been able to do whatever he wanted and its been very difficult to stop or reverse the damage.
Its quite shocking how much someone can hate a country whilst being in charge of it.

Sorry to anyone living in the fascist dictatorship that is the US. Its clear that youve lost your democracy.
Also sorry for all of the innocent civilians living in Iran which are about to go through hell thanks to Israel running off and crying to the US

- Comment on Why are you here and not on Reddit? 2 months ago:
Reddit removed access to the API and broke all the great third party apps and features which the community designed. Reddit is still a community but its not free to decide how things are governed or what features are or are not allowed.
Reddit turned into exactly the same as every other social media and lost what was truly good about it.

Whilst this is truly insane, the IT and cyber industry is strong enough that surely another country will step in to start supporting this or a similar initiative.
It’s sad what the US is doing but it gives me some hope that a more stable country will pick these pieces up.
