Functional illiteracy is a thing, pretty sure my last boss fell into this category. Everything had to be a meeting, couldnt do work by email or chat. He had to review and approve my reports, and they would sit for months. I think there was a nine month back log when I left.

One of Steam’s selling point to developers is that it has easy DRM tools for them to use. Bethesda probably added their own DRM on top of Steam’s. But no for profit company is going to let you pirate software they spent thousands or millions to developed.

Shows you how little they value Linux games

This is what happens when bean counters make the decisions. Linux is only 4% of market share so I am sure the cost of supporting Linux users was not worth it.

Good luck, there is DRM on almost every peace of software you buy. Most of it you never notice but it is there. I am guessing
Id~~Bethesda ~~Microsoft went a little too hard on their DRM. We will probably have another Spore situation here and its becomes going to become the number one pirated game of 2025. Or maybe not, the last Doom game wasn’t that great and I am assuming this one is trash too. - Comment on The Circle of iLife 2 weeks ago:

Ok, cool. Now download Krita to make the assets and Godot for the engine. Start with a small and some version of your idea. And remember, this the most important part, it is OK to fail, failing is part of the process. Be kind to yourself when thing don’t work or come out the way you expected them to. It is OK to take breaks bit don’t give up.

Ok, I like this idea. What kind of vehicles are players making and what do they do with the vehicles once they make them?

You probably don’t have shit ideas, you just need help making you ideas work. Even Tolkien had a group of people help I’m improve the Hobbit.

There was a shirt, it was Mario + Mushroom = Big Mario. Our administration thought this was a drug reference. Some nerdy kid would wear the shirt and about half way through the day they would be wearing it inside out.

You are right, but I also think you missed the point of the post. This is basically an iPod nano from 2005 with a few extra features.

Back in my day, you didn’t even have game saves. You beat Mario 3 in one sitting or you started over, and we liked it!

Yes, it’s a classic “white savior” trope.

So what yoy are saying is, if they had gotten a lawyer and done some research they could have avoided this issue. Now compare this level of injustice to the genocide that has been happening in the middle east, of these two, which deserves my emotional energy?

help me understand then, because if its a back contract you don’t have to agree to it. so in what way are these people forced to sign contracts, and what are these terms and conditions that let people steal IP

But is it even evil? Like there were contracts involved with terms and conditions. Its not like some guy with a handle bar mustash just swiped the IP and walked away. Someone agreed to the contract that resulted in the loss of their company/IP and if they didn’t read it or consult with legal lawyer who’s bad guy?

I am sensing a lot of anger here and given the current state of the world it just seems so misplaced. Like dude, there is really shit going on with real villains and real people siffering, maybe direct that anger there.
