- Comment on Are the research projects for long-term storage already deployed? 2 weeks ago:
Thousands is not that difficult. Paper lasts for thousands of years under the right conditions. Millions is a whole different game. That’s significantly longer than humanity has existed It’s not just about the material, it’s also about not losing the ability to read the contents. There are texts less than 5000 years old whoch we cannot read anymore.

No, just heat death of the planet
- Comment on People who have been in meetings to determine back to in office policy. What was the discussion like? 2 weeks ago:
Sounds like people have been put in positions which do not fit their skills. This should be fixed by either developing their skills or putting them in a position that fits their abilities, not by other people doing their job for them in person.

I completely agree! I would then ask that the CEO force his bootlickers back into the office, but leave everyone else alone. It’s not like he would ever degrade himself as to speak to the unwashed peasantry that is the employees.

Not emails, conversations.
Do you believe such conversations are impossible by telephone?

Why do they have to?
- Comment on People who have been in meetings to determine back to in office policy. What was the discussion like? 2 weeks ago:
There was no discussion. The CEO likes it this way. His bootlickers invented a bunch of bullshit justifications in order to make the RTO rules seem to jave reasons, but there isn’t one other than the CEO likes it this way.
People have tried to discuss it reasonably but it has become clear that it is an emotional matter for the CEO and discussing it like adults is not possible.

- Comment on Are display sizes always measured in inches? 5 weeks ago:
It’s usually marked in both inches and centimetres, but most people are more familiar with the inch-based size. I don’t know why. Perhaps it’s because the USA is/was so dominant in the computer and mobile phone industry. It’s the same with car tyres, for some reason their size is given in inches as well.

Interesting fact, this is one area where the USA and Europe have a very large cultural difference. In Europe, people are themselves at work, they don’t have a work persona like in the USA.
- Comment on how do I stop being a sucker for alcoholic stuff on sale? 2 months ago:
Try putting the 6 pack in the cellar or attic and only one in the fridge. That way you only see the one. After having drank that one it will annoy you to climb stairs to get another room temperature one so you won’t.
You might also consider seeking professional help. You aren’t an alcoholic, but you will be if you keep this up. Alcohol is a terrible drug and one of the worst possible addictions to have. It’s like heroin, but worse because unlike heroin it’s available everywhere all the time, so staying sober is so much harder.
In my country there is a supermarket chain that doesn’t sell alcohol at all (nor cigarettes). If you jhae something like that then maybe go shopping there to reduce the temptation.
- Comment on How are Americans so outgoing and extroverted and how can I become the same? 2 months ago:
“Americans” is a stupidly large and diverse population to say anything meaningful about.
That’s true! OP should’ve specified US-americans, not all Americans.

In the USA, rich people are quite obviously above the law, so no, I don’t think he will.
- Comment on [deleted] 3 months ago:
Yes, I am aware that this is the prevalent misconception in the USA. If you spoke more than one language you’d quickly realise this is not the case in the rest of the world. For example, your demonym in Spanish is Estadounidense, which means Unitedstatesian. In German it is US-Amerikaner, the meaning of which you can probably understand.

America is a continent with 30 countries on it. Only one out of these 30 has deemed it a good idea to elect an orange felon as their president. It is called the USA.
