That’s a crap insult, try harder. Maybe get an LLM to workshop a few with you?

Pretty much, yes. All of them are either obvious nonsense or actually a complaint about something else. The water usage claims are just obviously insane - it does not use half a litre per query and the water is not unable to ever be reused (yes I have seen both of these in the wild), the rest of the environmental claims are bullshit because the impact of every ai data centre in the world is less than JUST McDonalds by at least two orders of magnitude (and one Big Mac uses enough energy to produce to generate quarter of a million images!), let alone oil companies and manufacturing and the like - don’t claim hating ai is about being environmentally conscious unless you’re out there campaigning against things that actually have an impact! The claims about it not being real art or having no soul or that sort of thing were all made against photography a century ago and I bet you own something with a camera on, and many of them against pre-mixed paints before that (the media of the time dragged Turner for that). Claims about it deleting code or whatever all all user error. Claims it talked kids into suicide are lies told by the lawyers of grieving parents looking for something to blame (in every case it has transpired that it tried to talk them out of suicide).
The only one that holds any weight is about it being used for misinformation, and that is a very real problem, but it’s a problem of political corruption and media literacy. We really do need to do something about media literacy, not least people who believe every bad thing said about ai and attack and hurl abuse at anyone who tries to counter it.

Huh, for a change they didn’t have some lunatic spewing obvious and frequently debunked lies? I guess they couldn’t justify shoehorning Farage in for a change then. That’s nice. (Although it might have been nice to see a hater being utterly destroyed) (watch the hater respond with downvotes and frequently debunked lies right now - they always do)

Ah okay. Not one I’ve stumbled across before

Is there something I’m missing that makes these fascist rather than just eco-psychotic? I mean don’t get me wrong they ain’t happyfuntimes, but fascist does mean something specific and we need it to describe actual fascists right now

The extremely inaccurately named “online safety act” does nothing but make the internet worse and should be repealed in full asafp. But no politician is going to stand up in parliament and say “I want to repeal the law intended to make children safe” even if that law doesn’t work! Kids just get around it anyway

Wow, you’re really stupid

My hope is that generative ai will kill pixel art because pixel art is ugly and genai can be really beautiful

Good news! You can have ai AND human interaction if you’re not an awful person no-one wants to talk to!

The daemonisation of and misinformation about ai really piss me off
- Comment on Project Shadowglass channels Thief, Deus Ex and System Shock while dunking on generative AI 7 months ago:
proudly non-AI-generated “3D pixelart” world.
I like AI art, I dislike pixel art, I lived through the 80s and computer graphics were not the highlight. Hopefully generative ai can render pixel art obsolete once people like this get over themselves
