- Comment on On 9/11 what was the internet like after it happened? Did people quit being dicks or trolls and showed some decency? Or was it like we have today and nothing changed? 16 hours ago:
It was truly impressive how niche forums and start-up websites coalesced to support an anti-war movement that brought 300-400k people to New York (and similar numbers in cities globally) to protest the invasion of Iraq.
Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (ANSWER) was one such focal group.
Interestingly it still largely felt organic and spread by word of mouth. With no real social media to amplify or mute.
The discourse today feels much more controlled. Despite millions collectively protesting globally- a coalition of the willing invaded a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 using the tragedy to support the globalist ambitions of the father and his cadre

To be fair while economists do a lot of good empirical testing across disciplines they are notorious for mis-interpreting other fields

I love the people who say anarchism / communism are utopian and would never work in practice without negative externalities- and then go bootlicking for representative democracy and capitalism

Love the post. I would argue the latter is antithetical to anarchist theory

As much as I hate the ruling family of Saudi Arabia… get off it:

Your information is dated. We are net exporters of crude oil for the past 15-years with majority of import from Canada and Mexico

But what if the net ROI on those data centers is massively below the working average cost of capital… what is stated above is still massively destructive to capital and economic activity

Untreated bi-polar disorder commonly gets worse and worse in terms of lows / mania until it hurts you or someone you care about. Seek treatment and medication.

And of course if the local government doesn’t investigate we can trust there will be federal oversight. - lol
