Hah I’m not worried mate it’s all good, I just find it interesting how certain interest groups can change narratives from one day to the next. Btw this misrepresentation extends to all the non-English speaking peoples, who are basically excluded from the internet.

I’ve noticed a trend lately - not sure how far back this goes - but it appears to me that aspects of the Greek civilization are very often attributed to the Romans and mentions of the Greeks are often reduced to derogatory memes (like how easy it is to be Socrates because there was only a bunch of people alive at the time and other such bs) and of course let’s not forget how gay everyone was (as if that’s a bad thing but whatever). Couple that with misconceptions about Alexander the great and how he was supposedly a Slav and Macedonias weren’t Greek blah blah, the fact that the Turks are trying to claim that everything that now lies in modern day Turkey is “theirs” etc etc, the claims from Christians around the world that Christian ideas are the basis of the western civilization and morality in general as if they didn’t just appropriate everything from past religions and belief systems… Anyway rant over.

Here we go again with the random shitting on the Greeks.

I’m genuinely asking wtf?
- Comment on Do you think that Edward Snowden is a hero? 2 weeks ago:
You think him fleeing to Russia is inconsistent? It seems to me that the organizations he’s exposed are the sort of outfits that would murder someone like him, so in order to stay alive I don’t know what other choices he would’ve had.
Agree on Greta btw, but to continue with the same example, I would say that killing a little girl is less likely, because it would create a martyr. And if she were ever in danger I wouldn’t hold it against her if she chose to disappear somewhere. She’s already done more than enough.
My point being, I don’t necessarily see the difference, and I’m a bit confused at the apparent hesitation to label Snowden a hero. Tempted to assume that the smear campaign is working even in these circles.
- Comment on Do you think that Edward Snowden is a hero? 2 weeks ago:
I’m not saying anything. The thread is about Snowden and you said one can do great things and still be a shitty person, so I’m trying to understand what you mean.
- Comment on Do you think that Edward Snowden is a hero? 2 weeks ago:
Are you saying Snowden is a shitty person? If so, why, what’s he done?

Don’t know if you guys saw but Cofeezilla came out with his video yesterday. There’s a little bit more nuance regarding the actual numbers than what one would think just watching the reckless Ben series.
Not that it changes anything, still a thieving business run by rats and a completely corrupt police department - which coffee does not go into for some reason - very disappointed with that tbh since to me that’s the biggest thing in this story…
- Comment on Reckless Ben and the Blatant Corruption - Protest the courts. The Police. The Corporate HQ 4 weeks ago:
You’re making a lot of false analogies here, but I wish people would respond instead of just downvote you. First of all, afaik there is a signed contract - if that makes a difference. Secondly, I don’t think a Lego collector can be called a hoarder, that’s… Yeah no. Third, the owner is sick and was trying to sell his collection to pay for the medical expenses, they’re not as well off as you assume. But even if they are, what difference does it make? It’s still not legal to steal from them. And finally, the whole issue here is that a big company is bullying the little guy, with the help of the establishment in the form of the police. This is now more about how the police broke the law and acted like a mafia organization and less about the theft from the company.
- Comment on Reckless Ben and the Blatant Corruption - Protest the courts. The Police. The Corporate HQ 4 weeks ago:
Public pressure is the only thing that has helped move this case forward to where it is today.
If you hope to see any repercussions for the police officers who blatantly took sides and broke the law then public pressure is the only way. Explain yourself, because right now with this comment in isolation you sound like a boot licker…

So no response to Kenji’s video huh? What do you have to say to Kenji? Is he wrong? Is he cooking his eggs for too long? Are you a better chef? Sounds to me like you’re just a reactionary internet expert but in reality you can’t even boil an egg.

Wow sounds like you also need a good pick up the bottom to release all that air you absolute insufferable gasbag.
My advice came from Kenji López-Alt, specifically from this video: youtu.be/hb0Elaa6gxY Now I don’t know where you’re from and what kind of eggs you’re used to, but in Europe we have normal eggs straight from the chicken’s ass and that’s how long they take to boil.
- Comment on The way this egg peels in infuriating 2 months ago:
I just run the same pot under running cold water and then I leave the eggs in that cold water for a couple of minutes. I guess if you want you can prepare an ice bath, that would be better but I can’t be bothered. I need to have breakfast ready in a few minutes so I don’t care about perfection. Sure, some might break when you lower them into boiling water, and some might not peel as easy. But in general this method gives me easy peeling eggs for the most part.
- Comment on The way this egg peels in infuriating 2 months ago:
The fresh eggs thing is a myth, this happens to all eggs. Here’s what you do: Boil the water first and then place your eggs in it. You can lower the heat afterwards to a lower simmer.
6 minutes for really runny eggs. 7 minutes for runny yolk. 8 minutes and the yolk is almost firm. Egg size matters of course.
After, put the eggs in cold water so they stop cooking. This also helps the membrane to separate.
Another method is to prick the bottom of the egg where the air pouch is with a small needle before dropping them in the boiling water along with some vinegar. Same steps after, cold water etc. This is what they do in restaurants but honestly I never bother, the first method delivers easily peelable eggs 80% of the time and that’s good enough for me.
- Comment on Earbud question: Does anyone actually like to silicone tipped earbuds over the solid plastic ones? 4 months ago:
I would recommend you try actual good In-Ear Monitors, something like the 7hz Zero 2 to name a cheap and popular option. Feel free to do your research of course, but generally I’d point you in the direction of IEMs. Get something where the cable rolls over the ear. If you get the right ones for your ears they will never fall off. And these come with a variety of silicone or foam eartips for you to choose from. Not to mention that what is called Chi-fi has far surpassed everything else in quality of sound compared to price. For $30 you get the kind of sound you’d have to pay hundreds for. Other popular alternatives: Moondrop Chu 2: $ Kiwi Ears Cadenza: $$ Truthear Pure: $$$

Lived in Germany for years and had all of these. Love mettbrötchen, krustenbraten etc etc. BUT. I believe Germans don’t prioritize food. They will eat any cheap shit and save the money for beer. In the office a bunch of people - mainly foreigners - got together and arranged for a restaurant to be bringing food every day for a relatively cheap price. It was great. But most Germans would still prefer to go to Lidl and eat canned pasta for lunch. It’s not that they couldn’t afford it. They just didn’t want to spend €8 for food every day. Canned pasta and Birckenstock with white socks dude. Every day.
