So no response to Kenji’s video huh? What do you have to say to Kenji? Is he wrong? Is he cooking his eggs for too long? Are you a better chef? Sounds to me like you’re just a reactionary internet expert but in reality you can’t even boil an egg.

Wow sounds like you also need a good pick up the bottom to release all that air you absolute insufferable gasbag.
My advice came from Kenji López-Alt, specifically from this video: youtu.be/hb0Elaa6gxY Now I don’t know where you’re from and what kind of eggs you’re used to, but in Europe we have normal eggs straight from the chicken’s ass and that’s how long they take to boil.

I just run the same pot under running cold water and then I leave the eggs in that cold water for a couple of minutes. I guess if you want you can prepare an ice bath, that would be better but I can’t be bothered. I need to have breakfast ready in a few minutes so I don’t care about perfection. Sure, some might break when you lower them into boiling water, and some might not peel as easy. But in general this method gives me easy peeling eggs for the most part.

The fresh eggs thing is a myth, this happens to all eggs. Here’s what you do: Boil the water first and then place your eggs in it. You can lower the heat afterwards to a lower simmer.
6 minutes for really runny eggs. 7 minutes for runny yolk. 8 minutes and the yolk is almost firm. Egg size matters of course.
After, put the eggs in cold water so they stop cooking. This also helps the membrane to separate.
Another method is to prick the bottom of the egg where the air pouch is with a small needle before dropping them in the boiling water along with some vinegar. Same steps after, cold water etc. This is what they do in restaurants but honestly I never bother, the first method delivers easily peelable eggs 80% of the time and that’s good enough for me.
- Comment on Earbud question: Does anyone actually like to silicone tipped earbuds over the solid plastic ones? 1 month ago:
I would recommend you try actual good In-Ear Monitors, something like the 7hz Zero 2 to name a cheap and popular option. Feel free to do your research of course, but generally I’d point you in the direction of IEMs. Get something where the cable rolls over the ear. If you get the right ones for your ears they will never fall off. And these come with a variety of silicone or foam eartips for you to choose from. Not to mention that what is called Chi-fi has far surpassed everything else in quality of sound compared to price. For $30 you get the kind of sound you’d have to pay hundreds for. Other popular alternatives: Moondrop Chu 2: $ Kiwi Ears Cadenza: $$ Truthear Pure: $$$

Lived in Germany for years and had all of these. Love mettbrötchen, krustenbraten etc etc. BUT. I believe Germans don’t prioritize food. They will eat any cheap shit and save the money for beer. In the office a bunch of people - mainly foreigners - got together and arranged for a restaurant to be bringing food every day for a relatively cheap price. It was great. But most Germans would still prefer to go to Lidl and eat canned pasta for lunch. It’s not that they couldn’t afford it. They just didn’t want to spend €8 for food every day. Canned pasta and Birckenstock with white socks dude. Every day.

Exactly, it’s not just lemmy, and it’s not just the US either.
Essentially it’s late stage capitalism, the root of all our recent discontent in the past 30ish years. Enshittification of everything…

That goes without saying. But to be clear, we don’t know the dick pick timing. Also I think that regardless of the vulgarity and the obvious stupidity of sending your meat to a person who didn’t ask for it, there is something positive to be found in any expression of desire towards oneself no matter how crude and idiotic.

Wtf no it doesn’t? If there’s roads then there’s other people on them and OP - as far as we know - is a danger to them. If you can’t drive, don’t drive, simple as. There is nothing else to consider here. And frankly if the first thing you thought about before replying wasn’t the safety of others then you shouldn’t be driving either.
- Comment on [deleted] 9 months ago:
If you can’t control your vehicle you should definitely not be driving, you are endangering others on the road.

Hahahah ok I understand how that is what practically happens, but where do they stand politically? What I mean is, this time we saw Harris support fracking and guns, having a lackluster response to Israeli aggression - to say the least - buddying up with Liz Cheney etc etc. Do people who are disappointed by this right turn have any reason to turn to the greens? If not, is there anyone else?
- Comment on Erasure 1 year ago:
Can someone explain why all this hatred for the green party? I don’t know anything about them but I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason for that is active silencing.
