Their power trains. Engines are very important and when you cut costs in manufacturing it lowers the quality and the standards of quality on crucial parts of the engine. Hyundai had a class action lawsuit that involved about a dozen different vehicle models over a 15 year period where due to a casting flaw in the engine block it was common for the engines to consume/burn oil even with exceptional maintenance and proper oil change intervals of 3000 miles and this resulted in the crank case being starved of oil and when the crankshaft doesnt have enough oil to build pressure and send it through the valleys built into the block and cylinder head and drip back down through the calves and adequately lubricate all those running parts then the rod bearings which are thin slivers of metal between the crank shaft and the connecting rods which connect to the piston they end up getting small pieces of metal between them which scratches these bearings and loosens them and creates a very loud knocking sound that will now be permanent even if you were to too new oil into the engine immediately once it starts knocking from the bottom end the engine is cooked. Go to any junk yard and you will hyundais that were effected by this issue (that hyundai literally attempted to sweep under the rug hoping it would go away without doing anything to resolve the issue because it would have been to expensive to redesign these engines techs were being instructed by hyundai to tell owners of their vehicles that burning 2 or 3 quarts of oil every 1000 miles was “within specifications” it was pretty damn absurd) in greater numbers than any other engine subvarients of other manufacturers. It gave hyundai/kia/genesis a really bad name in the automotive industry for years and that mistrust and dislike of Hyundai as a brand still persists today.
Granted electric cars are an entirely different animal i would still much rather spend my money on a brand that has shown a commitment to producing a quality product that lasts. One thing toyota does right is they assume people will neglect to maintain their vehicles so they over engineer their vehicles so that they will last longer under extreme operating conditions than they should. This is why it is so common to see toyotas from the 90’s and early 00’s still on the road today. Even if a toyota has some oil consumption issues As long as you keep toping the oil off it won’t be an issue. And when i say oil consumption issues i mean on a 30+ year old engine with 200-300 or more miles on it maybe burning one quart every 2000/3000 miles but no more than one quart per 1000 miles. Anything beyond 1 quart per 1000 miles is ridiculous and usually a symptom of a bad oil leak or sludged piston rings and means you need an engine rebuild or you can try an engine flush. (bG fluids engine restorstion flush kit is $350 for the kit but it works and is quite amazing from what i have seem) there are cheaper enfine flush products. One thing you can do is just mix 20% marvel mystery oil into each oil change untill you notice a reduction in oil consumption but with tbe hyundai thing this wouldn’t fix the underlying issue which was caused by a poorly manufactured engine block. - Comment on Win win 2 weeks ago:
They are still leaps and bounds better than other manufacturers. 3 of the 4 major Japanese manufacturers put out quality. Nissan used to a while back but really lost their way. Despite the implied monopolization aspects I was excited when i heard honda was going to acquire nissan but then disappointed to hear that merger fell through.
- Comment on Win win 2 weeks ago:
Theyre not too bad. Japanese manufacturing standards are pretty exceptional. Its a shame that honda isnt buying nissan after all, they are the one outlier.

Amen. Thats why i have an rx330. If you want fuel efficiency they make plenty of hybrid drive trains. The first prius came out in like 2000 they sure have come a long way with that tech.

Id rather have a 15-20 year old toyota with 100k miles on the odometer than a brand new Hyundai.

Toyota makes electric cars and also hydrogen cars. But really EV’s arent all that great for the environment. Lithium mining is pretty awful not to mention super exploitative. And there is this bottleneck of liFePo battery production that we and the industry at large seem to be ignoring. Currenty less than 8% of the amount of new vehicles sold annually on the planet are EV so we would need to increase the supply by at least 1250% plus all the other industries that rely on lithium batteries like cordless power tools, batteries and many other consumer electronics. So likely we would need to increase production by 2000% and thats a conservative estimate and then we would need to repeat this year after year after year. This us not going to be good for the environment regardless the increase in sustainability compared to ICE vehicles. We need to develop solar tech beyond what it is. Look at tje german auto manufacturer Sono who makes a solar ev that seems pretty promising for a technology in its infancy. Also we need to really take notes from toyota because manufacturing cars in the way that American automotive manufacturers have normalized, disposable planned obsolescence vehicles made to break down so that consumers will have to buy a mew one or pay for hours and hours of expensive labor, is just not sustainable. Toyota at least puts out vehicles that mostly Will still be on the roads 3 decades or more after their first purchase. When most other manufacturers are making vehicles that are pretty much crushed and sold for scrap after 100,000 miles or 10 years. So besides the technology itself the current model of consumer usage and disposal is not sustainable

Idk what poanet youre on but toyota makes great cars all around. The lexus RX/ toyota highlander (which is just the camry platform crossover) redefined suv crossovers. Without it suv’s tofay would be totally different. Also toyota 4cylinder hybrids get 60+ miles to the gallon the electric hybrid rav 4 in 2020 was getting 96 mpg. Toyota makes tons of wagons and sedans, tbe prius comes in wagon format the ct200h is a wagon, Camry, carola, avalon, gs300, ls350, sc400, I mean if you dont want a car that will last 3-5 decades plus that was made to last then get what you want. I cant tell you how many late 90’s early aughts toyota products are still on the road i see dozens every day. I have one. A 2004 rx330 with 225,000 miles on it. Aiming to take it to a million miles. There is a reason toyota products have great resale value, are highly desired and have stellar consumer reports ratings. And they are pretty easy to work on so you dont have to pay 200+ an hour at a mechanic if youre not an idiot and are mechanically inclined.
And if you want something else then go honda. Toyota and honda products are hands down the 2 best quality manufacturers that produce reliable lasting vehicles.
- Comment on Win win 2 weeks ago:
Hyundai makes awful products. Look at the major lawsuits they had due to engine manufacturing defects that caused oil deprivation and rod knock(when the crank case/ engine block is too low on oil the bearing sleeves in between the crank shaft and connecting rods that attach to the pistons end up wearing excessively from running dry making the connection loose so the engine will make a loud knocking noise that means it is FUBAR and needs a new engine or a rebuild) across like a dozen different model / engine subvarients over a 12 year period. They are cheaply made. South Korea is a western proxy state their corporate culture is to maximize profits on the backs of consumers and cur costs wherever possible.
Buy a toyota or honda if you want a reliable quality vehicle. Maybe a volvo or a vw product but only if you know how to maintain cars yourself otherwise youll be paying a lot for maintenance on german cars, but toyotas are made to keep running even if you neglext maintenance and are super reliable if routine maintenance is kept up.

- Comment on Sooo, where did the blatant Nazism suddenly come from? 1 month ago:
In the 1930’s the robber Barron legacy wall street families got together and hatched a plot. A fascist coup attempt to overthrow FDR and install a fascist wall street /Military industry controlled regime that was modeled after hitler’s Germany. Wall street mostly unanimously supported the third reich. They funneled money to him, as well as equipment, put him in the cover of tine magazine as 1938 person of the year and held a rally for him at Madison square garden. The usa didn’t want anything to do with the great war till it became evident that Germany was likely to lose so they allowed pearl harbor to happen to give the US carte Blanche via public support to enter the global theater then we pillaged their military secrets and gave asylum to many war criminals we deemed useful like werner von braun and many others (project paperclip) But anyway Prescott bush was one of these new money wall street people who spearheaded this coup attempt. They propositioned one of the most highly decorated generals in us history- smedly butler, author of the short autobiographical/ social critique war is a racket, to head this coup and take the white house by storm with several thousand military veterans. Butler played along until the last minute when he blew the whistle and testified to congress and the house un-American activities committee/ HUAC who deemed his testimony credible but were very likely paid off and did nothing to hold those responsible accountable. Now fast forward 90 or so years to today and the main architect of this coup’s son and grandson were both sitting presidents (one was cia director and very likely involved in the JFK assassination and was in Dallas on November 22, 1963) and all branches if the us government are now obviously controlled by the intersection of wall street and industrial military power whom also simultaneously control the press and use it to disseminate propaganda that the general public are easily swayed by in major part due to nixon and Reagan cutting education standards at the recommendation of their mutual advisor roger a freeman who said an educated proletariat was a major threat to their movement. Those two administrations were some of the most damaging to the American proletariat and did so much to dismantle the progress that the civil rights and labor rights movement did in conjunction with the new deal policies of fdr that allowed the middle class yo thrive for 3 decades until hyper inflation reared its ugly head and gave way to the modern age of austerity in America our government and their mouthpiece puppets are lying about. They intentionally devalued the us dollar while adequately adjusting corporate executive pay to compensate for this reduction in value to eradicate the workers and civil rights progress of the 40’s 50’s and 60’s and sent a majority of us manufacturing jobs to the third world to cut labor costs by 90-95%+
For the first 172 years of the us dollar as a standardized currency the price of gold only fluctuated 95% from $18 to $35 when FDR temporarily suspended the gold standard made it illegal for the rich to hoard gold and bought up the majority of the supply then revalued it from $19 to $35 an ounce so he could double the money supply and repair the damage done by the great depression. But since nixon permanently ended the gold standard in 1971 the price of gold has increased 8400% from $35 to $2900 today. This is directly in tandem with the increase in the national debt from $400 billion in 1971 to 36 trillion and change today or toughly 9200% meanwhile wall street uses the IMF/ world bank inflation figures to lie to us about the extent that the working class has been looted right before our eyes. the inflation statistics they parrot are based on consumer price index which is an inadequate and inaccurate measure of inflation since it does not account for the devaluation of a currency due to the increase in circulating currency supply which the price of gold does by design. So that means the minimum wage in the US has lost between 84-93% of its value in 54 years which in 1968-71 earned the equivalent value of 95 ounces of gold a year which would be $130/hr or $270,000 annually at a 40 hour a week salary of $1.60/hr even in 1950 75¢/hr was 60/hr today or 125,000 and in 1956 it was $1/hr or $82/hr/$168,000 today. This is why one adult working a full time job at any time from 1945-1975 could supply a family of four with enough left to save for their two kids college, their retirement (if they weren’t part of the 50% of workers with a pension) own 2 or 3 used cars or one new car(which cost under $1000 at the time) and go on a modest family vacation once a year, today it would take both parents working 80 hours a week with overtime (which the current fascist regime wants to eradicate) at a base pay of$30 an hour to come close to the same quality of life. The American working class were turned to wage slaves and most were so poorly educated they didn’t have the intellectual capacity to understand this reality. Today 2/3 of workers live paycheck to paycheck with insufficient savings to cover a $500-1000 emergency expense. Most millennials and gen z will never own a home and have to work till they are too sick to do so or worse while hoping that social security, medicaid and food stamps are not destroyed/ defunded and or privatized so we can survive the end of our lives. This is the sad reality of america and anyone disagreeing with my assessment is choosing to believe the words of career liars who commit fraud regularly and with impunity and have fleeced the American people countless times while our tax dollars have gone to their tax breaks and bailouts so they can enjoy lifestyles of opulent luxury at our expense. Its time to MaGGA- make guillotines great again.

My bad. You’re probably correct considering its been 8 years since I’ve cut any keys. But i did have about a decade and a half of key cutting experience. I used to be able to cut 3 keys at a time if the chuck would open wide enough mostly just with the wr-1/kw-1/ar-1 and sc-1 blanks. I don’t miss finding those damn brass shards in my feet after work though
I did clarify in another comment that it did look like an assa key after this comment. Sometimes those little round keys for special cylinder locks and po boxes were the hardest to figure out.

I guess you could copy a key from a picture but it would be a real pain.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 month ago:
Ive cut a lot of keys in my day and what makes them work besides the jagged pattern the pins fall into which allows the lock cylinder to turn are tbe pattern of groces along the horizontal shaft of the key. Sometimes other blanks will work if the slots are not to specific and the key slots are just vague/thin enough to fit into the cylinder but these 2 key blanks have very different slotting configurations

Thats not the right keyblank…… the broken one looks like an sc1 or a y-11 and the little one looks like a y-1/m-1 for master locks.

The only thing predictable is the pro capitalist propaganda points coming from you The ccp is not communist, its state owned capitalism. And russia hasn’t been the ussr since 1989 but it is authoritarian. But so is the usa.
You sound like a billionaire bootlicking propaganda fountain.
Any crimes of humanity you use to demonize communism and socialism i can name far worse criminality perpetrated by capitalist regimes.
How many millions of children go without dinner every night in America alone? Capitalism aims to deprive people of resources so a small few can live in opulent luxury and spend more on weekend vacations than you could earn in a dozen consecutive lifetimes. And you are incorrect i have endured food insecurity. But yay america and capitalism because anyone can just pull themselves up by the bootstraps if they can just allow themselves to be treated like a disposable automaton to earn peanuts while being degraded so someone can take in passive income on their back.
Also fascism is inherently anti communist. What are you going to tell me next that the Nazi’s were socialist because they had the word socialist in their description? Who were the first group of people hitler vilified and sent to the labor camps? Oh right! The communists 🤣 fascism is primarily marked by the intersection of economic and military industry in control of the governing and media apparatuses. With characteristics such as the suppression of labor power, the protection of corporste power, sexism, obsession with national security and militsrism, unification around a common scapegoated enemy, disdain for intellectuals and artists, disdain for human rights, religious ideals intertwined with government, militarized police, obsession with crime and punishment, blatant cronyism, nepotism and corruption. The only one of the traits of fascism that America can claim plausible deniability on is fraudulent elections but anyone witj a brain can see our whole political system is owned by the wealthy. A princeton study showed unequivocally that the amount of influence a person has on policy is directly related to their economic status with a vast majority of the population who arent multi millionaires having a statistical near zero effect on any issue regardless of how popular or unpopular it may be to the boting general public.
And at least stalin wasn’t murdering and starving innocents to increase shareholder dividends.
Authoritarianism is bad but if i had to choose ill take the one where the regime makes an effort to ensure the citizens needs are met, as opposed to maintaining high profits so billionaires can buy more yachts and lobbyists to bribe politicians legally. whats the homelessness rate in cuba today? Oh yeah it’s virtually non existent meanwhile the us has the highest rate of homelessness and suicide since the gilded age and great depression. And also cuba such a socialist shithole as you would undoubtedly claim, still managed to innovate a vaccine to prevent lung cancer that is so effective the US had to begrudgingly admit it existed and work with the researchers who developed it to bring it to market in the usa where it is currently undergoing clinical trials (at a snails pace since the American capitalist health insurance cartels have zero interest in providing a cure for any cancer)
Everything in capitalism is commoditized including the suffering and death of those who are adversely affected by a system that rewards greed and lacks humanity. One of many cases in point being the war on drugs which has turned America into a fascist police state. We are conditioned to believe prohibition is continuing to erradicste the supply and demand of narcotics. Meanwhile the supply and demand have only grown since the war on drugs began and in reality the only things these laws do are increase the black market value of narcotics making them more profitable for socially elite bulk distributors, while commoditizing the poor mental health issues and suffering of those living in our capitalist system who are seeking escape and relief through self medication, to keep prisons at maximum occupancy and increase the profits of prison industrial profiteers. While the public are propagandized to support these blatantly authoritarian fascist laws that make things worse so more resources can be diverted to the police force who maintain racist attitudes mainly due to these drug prohibition laws which were all built upon the most racist and ignorant ideas of the early 20th century. And it also leads to the evolution of the market so now the majority of the illicit opiod supply is tainted with fentanyl analogues because its easier to smuggle something uktra potent and that reduces risk, so thank you DEA for the increase in overdoses and all the fentanyl in the black market supply. All of this is not only absurd and mindless its blatantly unconstitutional and illegal for several reasons. But again America is a capitalist empire in decline exhibiting severe symptoms of fascism.
Plus You had nothing to say of burkina faso and libya which were both successful until western capitalist powers assassinated their leaders and installed far right capitalist regimes. So much for “socialism always fails” if that were the case why is so much spent to ensure its failure? And all that man made famine you speak of, you fail to leave out who were responsible for the lack of food resources resulting from insurgent action by capitalist aggressors
And I understand feudalism. Its a system where the ultra wealthy act as landlords for an arbitrary amount of the crops and goods produced on their land but then that devolved into paying rent and if not one was charged as a criminal for stealing the resources of the land they lived on. Capitalism as it is today ultimately eroding all the socialist protections fdr legislated through the FLSA of 1938, has devolved into a system of neo feudalism. It is a fact that it cost more to purchase and maintain slaves under chattel slavery than Americans earning mininum wage anywhere in the country today are currently compensated.
- Comment on Luigi Mangione Content Is a Challenge for Social Media Moderators - B… 2 months ago:
And the massive amounts of resources expended bu capitalist super powers to ensure those awful economic conditions isn’t the reason for them? 🤡 What about lybia, burkina faso and cuba before the ussr fell? Youre seriously just parroting anti socialist propaganda. Capitalism came to be the domination economic model in the 1600’s took control of half the world and immediately began searching for new markets to exploit while perpetuating warfare for profit, slavery to maximize profits and genocides to stifle any resistance or perpetuate the values of eugenics and racism but yeah communism is bad because of famine and people aren’t allowed work really hard to become wealth hoarding billionaires while a large subset of the population live in squalor to support such opulent lifestyles of luxury
Break down the word capitalism and it tells you all you need to know. The intransitive verb at the root, to capitalize, is synonymous with “to exploit” and “to take advantage” the only time American capitalism ever allowed the working class to thrive was a brief moment of 4 decades after FDR legislated socialist policies to protect the working class from severe limitless exploitation and now legislation has been passed since that has rendered that progress irrelevant.
