Good thing I pirate all their shit already if I want it.
I stopped paying for Amazon Prime over a year ago once they announced similar bullshit with their video service.
Once Disney dropped subscription sharing… I started downloading their shit too.
Now i’m left with Netflix and Crunchyroll. I’m this close to axing netflix. Crunchyroll is kinda shit but at least it’s cheap.

how the fuck have we not yet solved phone audio quality and consistency problems.
Blame apple
- Comment on Would you like to finance your hot chocolate with a loan set at 69% apr? 3 weeks ago:
That’s not what the image shows though. It’s comparing a kids 8oz hot chocolate to a short 8oz hot chocolate which have different prices despite being the same items.
I have seen a few posts going around about how there are short term loans like affirm being used for coffee shops but the image here just isn’t at all related.

on behalf of Israel
Not exactly a good argument to discredit them saying it is not a nazi salute. An organization working on behalf of israel is unlikely to support nazi behaviors, no?
I’m not making any claims about the ADL beyond having some serious doubt that they would go along with nazi-ism.

I’m so fucking sick of the neg culture that pretends to be politically correct. There’s malicious sexism and loads of assholes out there for sure but some feel emboldened to attack anyone they construe to be saying what they think is wrong regardless of context.
Someone will always be offended by absolutely fucking everything. They can go fuck themselves.
- Comment on Nvidia Announces RTX 50's Graphic Card Blackwell Series: RTX 5090 ($1999), RTX 5080 ($999), RTX 5070 Ti ($749), RTX 5070 ($549) 1 month ago:
Those genres aren’t really known for having brutal performance requirements. You have to play the bleeding edge stuff that adds prototype graphics postprocessing in their ultra or optional settings.
When you compare non RT performance the frame delta is tiny. When you compare RT it’s a lot bigger. I think most of the RT implementations are very flawed today and that it’s largely snake oil so far, but some people are obsessed.
I will say you can probably undervolt / underclock / power throttle that 4090 and get great frames per watt.

The 4090 basically never went for MSRP until Q4 2024… and now it’s OOS everywhere.

The far cry benchmark is the most telling. Looks like it’s around a 15% uplift based on that.
- Comment on Maybe, just maybe, a company that refuses to give you time off if you have a bullet inside of you is a really really shitty company 1 month ago:
This is one of those open and shut FMLA violations that even shitty companies can’t get away with though and they know it.
The lady will be canned one way or another once they get back to the office because they violated some bullshit policy about how you can’t talk to the press or some bullshit. Will probably take a couple months and involve a PIP for “poor performance”

Spotify is an evil company. They’ve started adding fake songs in to pay themselves instead of paying royalties to real artists.

Ouch. That’s 68k of house repairs in 3 years, or 1888/month for 3 years. For that i’m guessing you could come close to renting a 2BR… but then you’d lose the ubermortgage rate of 2021. 500k @ 7.5% here means i’m on the hook for 5kish per month before food/car/gas/internet/clothes expenses. (includes hoa/taxes/utilities/pmi and other escrow expenses.)
I throw away about 3300 on interest only per month because my wife forced us to buy and money is tighter than ever, but I still have an emergency fund.
I will say i’ve never put anything on credit unless cash is in the bank already. 20-30%+ interest is something you just can’t climb out from under easily. That being said I have no idea how i’m going to afford a ~15-20k replacement hvac system once my ~20 year old one dies, could be tomorrow, could be in 1-3 years - who is to say? Definitely on the hook for a water heater next year. Dishwasher is ready to go but i’d handwash.

What stopped you from saving up a few hundred bucks?
Just curious. Everyone’s situation is different. Most of us who came from nothing had to make a lot of hard choices to get to a point where money was enough that a few hundred dollar purchase had no material impact on our lives.
