A fire? At a Sea Parks? It’s wrecking my head! If she had said that her parents drowned, I’d be the happiest man in the world!
- Comment on The IT Crowd: Jen has been transported 4 days ago:
“It just seems like a weird place to go on fire” was the best, I agree entirely!

Well good luck, she’s in Italy now.

Every time I’ve ever mentioned that there’s people who do this, the reactions I get from people who have one are… not pleased.
Actually now that I think about it, I think it’s because most of those folks don’t want to see other people’s Johnsons. I guess there’s not as much overlap between people who have dingalings and people who want to see them as there could be.

There was a subreddit for people putting like outfits on their peckers, and that’s about the only thing I think the fediverse is missing. And before anybody tells me to start that community, I don’t have a dick of my own, and yes, I’m aware that it’s a skill issue.

Literally what I’ve been saying since his whole ‘camps’ thing came to light.
We don’t just have poor impulse control (and we do, a lot of it)- many of us have had hobbies and interests over the years that make for a group of people who are each, in their own way, as resourceful as MacGuyver. If you make the mistake of rounding us all up and putting us in the same place, we’ll have a pirate radio and an underground railroad with an actual train in it in a week.
Our most dangerous phrase is, “I’m bored.” Our second most dangerous phrase is, “You know what would make this better?” And it’s only ever rarely dangerous to us.

Whatever is going on, it’s impossible to tell. I honestly am tempted to write an SCP article where people are cursed to be unable to be understood, and use these entries as examples.
- Comment on I have seen myself mentioned a few times out of the blue and I have a few things to say/ask 1 week ago:
It absolutely was. Lots of people in the comments were saying they weren’t going to check all their links or read the whole thing. If you look, I didn’t have a top level comment, and this is precisely why.
Well, that and because everyone else already said what I would’ve said; “I’m not going to read this” or “you want me to watch a fucking YouTube video?”
No one here wants to wade through a bunch of bullshit to try and read the points any of you think you’re making. If you want people on your side, you’ll need to clean up your posts, make your points as concisely and cleanly as possible, and for God’s sake, if someone tells you “stop talking about this” or “block people and move on,” do that. Don’t just keep posting a link to someone telling you politely to shut up over and over and over again!
- Comment on I have seen myself mentioned a few times out of the blue and I have a few things to say/ask 1 week ago:
Oh, right. Lol, I forgot about that. Kind of a big deal. I stand by the bit where I think you’re thinking of someone else, though.
- Comment on I have seen myself mentioned a few times out of the blue and I have a few things to say/ask 1 week ago:
This whole comment chain started with you jumping me because you thought I was accusing you of being an alt, which I didn’t, and also telling me to “check the mod logs,” which I can’t, because I’m a regular user.
You might be confusing me for someone else? I’m just a person who, when I see posts that are, like, impossible for an ADHD person to read, I speak up about it.
- Comment on I have seen myself mentioned a few times out of the blue and I have a few things to say/ask 1 week ago:
I mean you talked about how the two of you collaborate on messages, right? So it shouldn’t be a surprise to you that your posts are very similar in the way they’re difficult to read.
- Comment on I have seen myself mentioned a few times out of the blue and I have a few things to say/ask 1 week ago:
Thanks. I did manage to read the original post but my eyes kept sliding through the lines, and it just wouldn’t stick you know?
And any time I tell someone, no matter how politely, on Lemmy that I (and a buncha other people) would really benefit from an edit for readability, I get push back. ChatGPT it is. It might make your point in HR-speak, but at least I can internalize it.
- Comment on I have seen myself mentioned a few times out of the blue and I have a few things to say/ask 1 week ago:
I’ve literally never accused you of being the same person. My point here was I can see why someone would say that, because your posts are almost unreadable.
- Comment on I have seen myself mentioned a few times out of the blue and I have a few things to say/ask 1 week ago:
If anybody is accusing you of being an alt of Call Me Lenny/Leni, it’s because neither of you seem to know how to write for readability. “Wade through my manifesto to hear that I’m just asking you guys to remove a post” doesn’t really feel like a good way to get people on your side.
I’d say ‘no offense,’ but I’m not the only person here who isn’t always medicated trying to read this stuff, and it’s just like… straight up assault. And there are tools you can use so you don’t have to change anything!
Here. I ran this through ChatGPT. I literally told it, “rewrite this to be concise and for readability.” And then when it spit out half the words you wrote, I put it through ChatGPT again, and this is what I got-
“Hello,
I’m reaching out to the help desk with a genuine question. The fediverse is more confusing than I expected. I’m from ML, and I was told by an admin to register a WTF account to post content due to visibility issues from ML, not because I was banned. I was also mentioned in an anti-troll message as being an alt of someone banned from ML, which is false. I’m not banned from ML, and I can prove it with documentation. I understand that I may sound like this person since we occasionally collaborate on messages, but we are not the same individual.
My main concern is the false anti-troll message and others that link me to false associations, like being labeled a Nazi, which harms my reputation and projects. I’d like to know what can be done about this, as it’s spreading misinformation. I’m not an alt of anyone banned, and I’m not even politically aligned with the individual in question.
Additionally, I’m noticing a double standard when it comes to advocacy of violence. Some violent rhetoric is allowed, particularly regarding figures like Musk, while other forms are not. How is the line between acceptable and unacceptable content drawn, and why is there this apparent hypocrisy? I’m frustrated with the inconsistent enforcement and would appreciate clarification.
Thank you.”
You wrote 842 words to say, “I was hoping you could remove the anti-troll post, and also I’m not an alt, and also I’m gonna name a bunch of people to throw shade.” Jesus.

Smart. I made this one and it was like suddenly I could see the whole fediverse. Insane what I couldn’t see before.

Right, okay, lmao. I have a problem with anyone doing nazi apologia. If that’s seeing straight through me, so be it, week old account with 2 comments.

lmao I asked if they had said something, I didn’t say, “Please share private notes with me.”
And then to find the private note says, “block people and move on, stop replying” just makes it like, 10 times funnier. Definitely not something they were meant to share, though.

I don’t think you were supposed to share that.

The mods of world and lemm.ee told you that they don’t stand by the people who are saying Elon didn’t do a nazi salute?
They said that?

Did you forget you weren’t supposed to be talking about this further?

People hate when people bitch about downvotes. Your bitching made me downvote this, and the thing you deleted, because I disliked your whining enough to downvote you twice and, oh, here are two convenient things you said side-by-side.
Calling for people to “take note at who gives things thumbs ups and thumbs downs” really doesn’t help you pretending not to be a nazi apologist, by the way, and I will not be answering anything you say in reply to this comment, because I’ve seen other, reasonable adults up-thread get stuck in your stupid, winding, sea-lioning, exhaust-them-with-nonsense answers and I don’t have the interest in, nor desire to join their ranks.
Instead of wishing you a pleasant day, I’m just going to replace my boiler-plate answer with “bash the fasc.”

Typically, if you’ve been told to avoid going down a path, that usually means not commenting on it further, and also not constantly linking to the same place where you were told to avoid going down a path.

I cannot, for the life of me, begin to give a damn. Sometimes I see some terminally online people getting all pissy about not being perceived as cool, but that behavior isn’t cool either, so it just proves the point.
I don’t even want to be perceived, let alone labelled.

You got a snort laugh out of me in an otherwise stressful thread. Thanks.
- Comment on The one drawback to walking at night 3 weeks ago:
It is not an “excuse.” If I’m attacked by a man at night, I will have a more difficult time protecting myself than if a man was attacked at night, on average. Not to mention that you have to ask yourself, what is the attacker after? Because being sexually assaulted or raped is so personal and awful that it’s natural to have a higher amount of fear of that outcome.
Like how if you were equally likely of being jumped at night by a stranger as you were of being abducted and having spiky metal spears shoved in your urethra… you might recognize that’s it’s not super likely you’ll get shot, but you would be way less likely to risk it since the fact that sounding is just too awful to chance (for the vast majority of the population).
Also… my sample size is too small to be statistically relevant, but 100% of the men I know are sure they could “take” a random female attacker.
Unrelated; asking that question was difficult but not for the reason I expected. It was like a game! “Do I have super powers in this scenario?” “Is she armed? Am I armed?” “How much time do I have to prepare?” And my personal favorite, from a particularly well-traveled friend- “Is she like a random person, or one of my exes?”

I enjoy quietly asking, “do these tips actually go to you?”
I’ve gotten a discreet “no” headshake more than a few times. Then you can feel justified taking however long you want to select zero.
