you can assign independent applications > I know you can do this in windows without needing an extra sound controller it’s in ‘Settings>system>Sound>Volume Mixer’
Yeah, but separate physical controls are beneficial when you have full-screen apps, are busy, don’t want to lose your place, or if you need to do it more frequently and quickly than the sound mixer allows.
Linux largely has this too, but in both OS’s it’s less convenient than reaching over and quickly pressing a button or sliding a slider in many scenarios.

I think the Spotify application may be able to, I assume this is what OP was talking about.

Yeah that one is pricey, but you can certainly get cheap ones for a fraction of the price. Most people don’t need the one I have, and smaller ones can serve the same purpose.

If you have a desktop and not a laptop, it’s always a great idea to get a separate sound controller. Either a dac/amp for nice headphones, volume controls on a wireless headset, or even buy a sound mixer like the rodecaster duo so you can assign independent applications to each physical slider on the mixer. I do that last one and it’s such a quality of life improvement if you use your PC a lot.
All of these options can’t be seen from Spotify.

Like the other commenter said the amd might be better for gaming, but either way this pc is incredibly powerful and you should have no problem running all games at very high settings.

It just feels too easy. There’s so much good grind in this game, and it feels like there is very little reason to grind agility anymore other than clout, and even then now there is far less clout in having 99.

He got mad at me and much of his community over concerns about decisions he was making for “block game”. We stated our concerns kindly and politely, and he got mad and deleted an entire discord channel because we didn’t agree with him and made good points that he couldn’t refute. I lost all respect for him after that.

I’d like a more Mario sunshine/64 style game. The movement mechanics were sublime in sunshine. That itch hasn’t been scratched since, even by odyssey, which came closer than the galaxy games.

Exactly what I said in my comment at exactly the same time, but you worded it better 😅
- Comment on Me at CES today 5 months ago:
The main issue is having the 3d cache at all helps performance, and for gaming you’d want your game processes exclusively on the CCD with the 3d cache. So either you disable the other CCD (like windows’ game mode feature) or use software to force your game processes onto only the 3d CCD, which effectively turns the CPU into the 9800x3d anyway. Having processes for a single game split between both CCDs can cause jittering. From what I’ve heard, having a 3d cache on the 2nd CCD can eliminate that jittering, removing the need to manually keep game processes on the first CCD.
- Comment on Me at CES today 5 months ago:
9950x3d. It has double the cores of the 9800x3d, with an extra CCD that has 8 cores, but the 2nd CCD has no 3d cache. Which was known, to be fair, but still is disappointing.
