Prodigy has holoemitters on every deck and is able to reconfigure the bridge using them. It is possible but they just need a reason.
- Comment on Star Trek: Starfleet Academy Season 1 Wraps Filming 3 weeks ago:
We have like three entirely reasonable shows all setup that they keep not even touching. All of them episodic, all of them able to both speak to new generations and old.
Upper Decks: Live action show with the characters from Lower Decks. Primary focus is the main characters coming to terms with the fact that they are good enough to be senior members of a crew. Continue the idea that they are the little ship that could and their missions focus around support rather than flagship or the biggest of the bads.
Prodigy 2.0: Again live action, with Ella Purnell as a captain who is super in demand and capable and would be fantastic in the role. Focus here is again episodic, when the rest of the Federation has abandoned exploration due to all the BS at the start of Picard, they are the only crew left with the charter to seek out new life and new civilizations. You have an incredibly young but capable cast and easily could bring in some heavy hitters to support them.
Legacy: This idea has floated around a ton since Picard S3, honestly its the least developed of the ideas and I’d rather see a way to roll it into one of the much better and more fleshed out ideas above. I feel like the final scene in Picard was an afterthought while both Lower Decks and Progidy it was a true capstone.
- Comment on Alex Kurtzman Gives Live-Action Comedy Update, Says Star Trek Can “Broaden” 5 weeks ago:
The new 20 episode season is a 10 episode season with 5 webisodes and a cheaper side project like a cartoon or anthology.
Honestly this is better to me because it enables the good plots of the smaller episodes to get all the focus without forcing some awful secondary plot to fill run time.

I think this looks great. I’m not going to run a 20 foot USB cable accross my living room so wireless is pretty much a must. I think the only concern I have is if it discharges if I store it and if so what the bringup time would be.
- Comment on Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Lower Decks | 5x10 "The New Next Generation" 2 months ago:
Normal for a person, but not normal for him. We see him as a person at a very passionate person before he gets his implant who treats the dulling of his emotions as a boon.
I’d be shocked if the person influencing this writing of his character had never dealt with SSRIs or a similar medication.
- Comment on Lower Decks Eulogizing 2 months ago:
No Star Trek show loved Star Trek more than Lower Decks.
I hope this is not the last time we see these characters. Between losing Prodigy and Lower Decks it has been sad for Star Trek as of late.

Rutherford upgraded his implant to be little more like Alternate Rutherford who had a super implant that also blocked out his emotions entirely.
This wasn’t a story about how his implant was bad at dealing with alternate universe versions of technology. His story was about how he had always used his implant to protect him from feeling emotions. Cranking it up slightly was all it took to finally block him from loving anything. Himself as he is, the Cerritos, Tendi. As soon as he took it out all of those emotions flooded in.
- Comment on Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen’s early access launch weekend saw over 2300 concurrent Steam players 2 months ago:
Every year they relaunch classic EverQuest time locked progression. They did that long before WoW did and WoW hired their studio lead to help them improve their implementation of it.
I’m not recommending it, just saying you could still go experience it today. I’d maaaaybe recommend it over Pantheon but it is close.

It’s EverQuest. If you liked Classic/Kunark era EverQuest then you might like this game. The gameplay is very simplistic and heavily leans into you needing to manually go out and build a group of people that have the right classes. You go to an area and kill the same mobs over and over for a couple hours and hope you get something neat or a level.
- Comment on Astro Bot wins Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2024 2 months ago:
It’s a 100% perfect addition to THE core combat light puzzle platformer games. It also has an age range of 0-99 by both having cute jokes and references that would appeal to older folks while never being even remotely offensive.
Also yea, what else was there? Closest was make Wukong which primarily crushed the market because it again proved that the new or smaller studios can absolutely give a better AAA experience than the big studios these days by focusing on delivering a game not a storefront

Instead of playing games, go outside, touch grass, undergo the series of organ implantations that are required to become a Space Marine. The only thing holding you back is yourself.
- Comment on Do you have any recommendations for casual games? 2 months ago:
Same could be said for any game. The value mostly of a game is the controlled progression with little impact. If I go start power washing the driveway and then stop at a moments notice to go take a shower and head to work I’m gonna leave a giant mess laying around and a half done driveway.
- Comment on TikTok set to be banned in the US after losing appeal 2 months ago:
I mean the issue with TikTok is that they give the data and videos over to the Chinese government to be able to mass process it and search for vulnerabilities or enable social engineering attacks on the US government.
Meanwhile Twitter/X is totally different in that they give the data and videos over the US government to be able to mass process it and search for vulnerabilities or enable social engineering attacks on US citizens.

Middle school kids he mighta done nothing wrong at all. Those kids at that age are terrors and will oust people from a friend group for the dumbest reasons imaginable.
Sucks because that person may have done everything right and years later still can’t trust people or open up to them.
- Comment on Best (or least terrible) Flag Officer 3 months ago:
Admiral April and Admiral Forrest are both solid options.
I think April did a really solid job of showing what a great but imperfect leader looks like in Ad Astra per Aspera.
Forrest was supportive and helpful. Willing to bend the rules to support his people rather than vice versa.
- Comment on Where to start? 3 months ago:
Syndication is also called reruns, when the show is rerun out of order on TV at a standard Timeslot. Like for me TNG was on every night at 7pm M-F. It was shown in random order as far as I know with I believe them skipping less popular episodes, I honestly never noticed if they did hits for a bit then did a rerun through it or what.
The first season of TNG is considered weak as a heads up, similar for DS9 though DS9 has some bangers in S1, TNG is mostly weak. That said if you like it, you’ll LOVE the rest.
SNW is fantastic and I really recommend it, it is certainly New Trek but it’s a MUCH better successor to the legacy than Discovery.
- Comment on Where to start? 3 months ago:
Start with the best episodic episodes of TNG and DS9. Most of us were introduced to Star Trek out of order, it isnt like modern TV. 90s TV and prior was focused on syndication.
My recommendations would be, TNG: Darmok, Tapestry, The Wounded, Inner Light, Cause and Effect, Lower Decks (The episode that inspired the show). For DS9: In The Pale Moonlight, Duet, Trials and Tribbleations, The Visitor (Rest in peace Tony Todd)

Yea, if you want more leftist policies than right, vote and work with Democrats at the federal level and try to get Ranked voting in more places. Exactly like Bernie has. Continue to support your third party in local until they become able to actually get folks elected to even a Senate post. As long as the Green Party can’t even manage to get the most hippy district in the nation to get a single House Rep elected you might as well just cast your vote for Bob Ross.
- Comment on Survey: 73% of Amazon workers are considering quitting after 5-day in-office mandate 5 months ago:
Yea but moving out of country doesn’t normally come with you also getting to work less hours for more pay. Leaving Amazon for a competitive offer does.
High performers can do whatever they want, giving them a reason to leave like this is silly. Treat your employees like they are too immature to balance their work and life and you will end up with immature employees.
At the end of the day the question is do you want results or do you want butts in seats. If you run a factory it’s fair to want butts in seats. If you run a creative endevor you should want results.
- Comment on ReBoot s1e1 - remastered and uploaded by Mainframe themselves 5 months ago:
The intent is to make the distributed version more true to the real original. None of us got to see the original. The original is a bunch of data on various machines. What we saw was a low quality save file of the original, cut down and watered down to the specs of 4:3 CRT televisions and broadcast hardware of the time. That version develops artefacts not intended when distributed on modern media.
Now this probably isn’t using original source files but it is possible. Remaster as a term also is used when they take the final master copy and rerun it through more modern technologies to get a cleaner output which is what I expect happened here.
- Comment on ReBoot s1e1 - remastered and uploaded by Mainframe themselves 5 months ago:
Remaster doesn’t change the original art or animation. Sometimes it is a rerender of original source files. Sometimes it is a treatment of the existing master files. It just adds fidelity to the picture and sometimes audio. Fixes things like low framerate, weird lighting effects, that kind of thing.
