- Comment on Oechslegrad 3 hours ago:
No. It’s “degree Oechsle”, a measurement for the sugar content of fresh grape juice
- Comment on Oechslegrad 3 hours ago:
Kelvin does not use the degree sign. Its simply “x Kelvin”.
- Comment on Oechslegrad 5 hours ago:
70 to 80 is the usual lower range.
- Comment on Why civilians don't crowdfund bribe money for politicians? 2 days ago:
What do you think donations are? No need to do the extra crowdfunding step.
- Comment on Powdertoy: FOSS falling sand 5 days ago:
It doesn’t, really. Completely different type of game.
- Comment on Do crew have cabins below decks on short-distance ferries? 1 week ago:
Short-haul is usually shift-based, work your time and go home.
- Comment on How does ISP or in general Torrenting tracking works? 2 weeks ago:
Your ISP will know which sites you visited, even when they cannot specifically say what you downloaded.
Just assume everything you do online is logged at some point.
- Comment on Kia drops the ball again on their vehicles 2 weeks ago:
It stops the engine. When you’re standing still. Are you sure you know how the system works?
- Comment on Kia drops the ball again on their vehicles 2 weeks ago:
That stupid Auto Start/Stop system. A lot of vehicle manufacturers adopted this stupid feature. Kia included. I don’t see the point. Quite frankly, I see nothing but a huge safety hazard. What if you’re dealing with slippery conditions? What if you’re in snowy climates? What if there is no time for that when dealing with speedy drivers and heavy traffic?
What does any of that have to do with the start/stop system?

- Comment on Do boycotts work? 1 month ago:
Boycotts in general do work, absolutely. But it has to be a near-complete boycott, e.g. 90+% participation. Just a few will never work.

There will be dust in there too, just not as much as leaving them out.
- Comment on Why is the colour of sunlight different in every country? 3 months ago:
Angle (also dependent on time of day), air pollution, weather. And that’s only the “natural” part, most cameras will do auto-whitebalance, which doesn’t necessarily reflect the actual color of “white” at that moment.
- Comment on RPGs that are optionally pacifist? 3 months ago:
Kingdom Come: Deliverance has an achievement for a main quest line pacifist run. There is one NPC you have to kill for story reasons which apparently doesn’t count towards that achievement.

On one hand, I’m proud that I created the open environment I always wanted growing up.
And congratulations on that!
On the other hand, I can’t help but wonder if people around me would think it crossed a boundary.
You’d have to ask the people around you. But does it really matter? Also, who would go around and tell other people things like that?
- Comment on I would like to know about websites ending with .onion Is there anybody who can tell me more about this ? 4 months ago:

And it’s still not worth the money and a lot easier to simply temp-ban via IP.
- Comment on is it normal to feel tired for weeks after running and doing yoga every day for almost 6 months? 4 months ago:

Every day? In addition to a physically demanding job? Yeah, that’s a good way to overdo it.

Yes-ish and no. No, you won’t be insured by the european health insurances as a traveller. Yes, you could come over, get treated and maybe pay less than in the US.
