- Comment on Last Epoch Season 2 delayed by two weeks - New Launch Date: April 17th 1 week ago:
I dont know if two weeks will be enough, I thought them having a few days ahead of it would give them the best hype cycle for it then hope everyone comes back after poe ran it course. I dont think after is a good way, the numbers still are high on 2, I would worry it would just bury them this way. I hope not and I plan on hitting both!

- Comment on Fucking hell 1 week ago:
why would you avoid the fraction and use it up to 100 then minus 8. I dont have a lot of an issue with it being base 20 but the idea that talking in numbers you have to know fractions for a child is WILD to me. You have to do like a month of understanding math fractions to get how to speak whole numbers.
- Comment on Fucking hell 1 week ago:
How did you guys even get to this thought process for saying this sort of thing? Why would you work in fractions for whole numbers in language to start? Is this a monarch thing like they fancied themselves a math wizard so they said it like it was a solution on countdown and others mimicked to keep them happy/sound smart themselves?
- Comment on Anon's friend is Buddhist 2 weeks ago:
We are out in the country so they have a good food source of mice and moles from the farm land. So we make boxes for them in the winter and put out some food once a week just for supplemental food source for them. They are good kids and if we can we get them fixed, they do a big open call for them a few times a year and they just call us and are like how many can you get and send us over lots of carriers. Then for a week our house is just FULL (we have the main house, the barn and a chicken coop to keep little ones ) till we are sure they healed correctly then as they can they leave.
- Comment on Anon's friend is Buddhist 2 weeks ago:
I have a huge canvas tent that we use for SCA stuff and I take it and air it out before and after winter, and I just stay out there for a few days, we have a lot of strays that just come and chill with me and we both sleep out there at night and its real good for great cuddling and just enjoying each others presence. Plus again late night strays will sleep with us.
- Comment on Anon's friend is Buddhist 2 weeks ago:
what part of that isnt normal? The area in which we sleep can be what ever, is it just that he is alone with his own thoughts and does minimal food (most would just do rice only during these things)?
- Comment on Trump threatens to impose 'large scale' sanctions on Russia until a peace agreement with Ukraine is reached 3 weeks ago:
This is still all theatre, Hes only doing this so he can point to it and say see I am not a russian asset. But this week you also stopped all cyber actions against this same nation, who is the biggest cybercrime group in the world (china doesnt really do the ‘petty’ [for a nation state]crime that russia does, they just break into everything).

“It was just a prank bro, just wanted to see how quickly these agencys can react.” Why in the world would they want a reactionary dept. Its made to find the facts and apply laws, these things need to be precise and thought thru.

does this mean they are going to make meaningful changes like flat tax with no loopholes for anyone. just 10% for people and 30% corp. We wouldnt need half the staff on both ends.
- Comment on Over 20M 'people' listed as 100+ years old in the SS database? 5 weeks ago:
I mean keeping all the data is needed. Those numbers are tied to people dead or not, you cant reuse them. So yes keeping a record of each number and its accounting was a massive undertaking and was stated when they implemented it.
- Comment on embroidery 1 month ago:
while its thru the fabric on the left and right do they also go thru it or is it just to wrap the middle? if the former then it would also look like a simple flower pattern (I would think).
- Comment on embroidery 1 month ago:
in general I get why banning the word just because people wanna be edgy, but I fell like it should at least goto a mod list of like is this acceptable as there was more to it then just the word.
- Comment on embroidery 1 month ago:
see I knew it had to have the roots in that term (bundle of sticks) the image I saw didnt have the back up and over three stitches, I guess that is what makes it more embroidery then just a sewing stitch.
- Comment on embroidery 1 month ago:
I feel like the mods should be able to be like, no in this instance the word is correct, but I dont know what kinda tools they offer for them or if this is just a full on instance thing. either way I now know what it is.
- Comment on embroidery 1 month ago:
I just wanna guess from what I understand of the word, Would removeding in this mean that you are doing a stick or hatched type of stitching?
removeding refers to ladder like stitches made with threads across an open area between fabrics.
Really, isnt that just a whip stitch?

I know its a lot to ask but debian, could we please at least try and have a newer version of nvidia-driver, I mean 535 is a little long in the tooth.
And yes I know I can install the prop driver, and I was but for some reason the last beta fucked vulkan and I had to jump back into the disto one. (I do plan on trying to get this running this weekend, just open air bitching [not that anyone in the linux community does that])

- Comment on Evolution without sex: How asexual mites generate genetic diversity and ensure survival 1 month ago:
just to be contrarian I had a male calico, and I also had a female orange (full) cat. But I get your meaning and I think I was saying the same thing. The skin is doing its thing long before the other X is decided which would then set a lot of the bones and features that I think get set after one has shut down (sorry if it came off like I didnt mean this).
- Comment on Evolution without sex: How asexual mites generate genetic diversity and ensure survival 1 month ago:
I thought that was only during development, but by the time you are viable you are just riding on the dominate one. But this is all armchair understanding of these subjects.
- Comment on Evolution without sex: How asexual mites generate genetic diversity and ensure survival 1 month ago:
So to continue the book metaphor, their chromosomes are just reading a choose your own adventure book and as each mite lives they can choose to write and delete parts before they reproduce. I wonder if the ‘book’ is just read once and all the eggs are decided like that, or does each egg at the time of gestation start read their ‘book’ and have a different lottery then others.
This is kinda seen in mammals as the females (this is not a political meaning on the term) who have two X chromosome will shut down one copy (most the time, it can lead to issues for life if they dont, but those lives are functional just can fuck with looks and hair and the like) and use just the one. This is why (to my understanding) that you will see them as having a mothers or grandmothers allotment of features (the dads nose bit comes from the fact he has grandmas nose as well), and on the XY babies you can see a lot of different looks come out the rolls (genetic) they have. This is why some would be dead beat fathers will use the idea of “That baby looks nothing like me” while they can not see it if they go back and look at their grandmothers baby photos they would be like OOOOoooooohhhh. But that gets into critical thinking, and we shouldnt do that here.
