If it doesn’t reflect light, it’d be black. If it emitted its own light then there wouldn’t be shadows in the craters of the moon and we also wouldn’t have moon phases. It’s hard to tell if this person is actually being serious because this is literally just entry level physics.
- Comment on Why is it considered sexist to ask women to smile? 2 weeks ago:
It’s considered rude.
As a girl, my job isn’t to look attractive to guys. I smile when I feel like it, which happens a lot because I’m happy, but I’d still consider it rude if anyone told me to smile like it was an order. If you’re a guy and you wouldn’t tell other guys to smile in the same context, then that falls under discrimination based on sex.

I’ve had people tell me and my friends similar things to this. Some people just aren’t good with numbers and can’t put them into perspective with other numbers and arrive at scary conclusions with no further context. Canada has 40+ million people and side effects can include trivial things such as feeling tired or having a sore arm. On a similar note, 2 of the COVID vaccines were mRNA based and some people were scaremongering about how the vaccines must somehow alter your DNA because both “mRNA” and “DNA” sound vaguely similar.

They excrete ammonia through their exoskeleton because they don’t actually pee! I’ve only noticed a smell from them when they’re in large groups. They may be a bit smelly, and a lot of people mislabel them as insects, but they’re actually terrestrial isopods and are related to crabs and shrimps!

We are a weird species.

- Comment on Are Increased Colorectal Cancers Rates Linked to Using Laptops on Stomachs? 1 month ago:
No. The electromagnetic frequencies released by laptops are non-ionizing. The photons do not have enough energy to knock electrons off of atoms and lead to DNA damage. The photons released from the monitor (or even a candle flame) are much closer to being ionizing compared to the electromagnetic frequencies used for the wi-fi.

- Comment on My brothers Chuwi laptop had major problems. Now he got a wal-mart gift card for the price he paid for the Chuwi. He is eyeing an HP laptop with 256gb ssd. Is that the same as a regular harddrive? 1 month ago:
As others have said 256 GB really isn’t very much if you’re going to play modern AAA games on it. I got ARK on my computer which is around 200 GB and a lot of games nowadays are a couple dozen GB. It can be annoying having to pick and choose which games to wipe to free up space, so just a heads up!

Can confirm the thing about failing HDD’s. Both of mine are failing but one is significantly worse than the other, things fail in certain parts, like entire folders, or just a few corrupt files. When I’ve had flash drives go bad it’s catastrophic (which is why I have like five of them oop)

My friends, family, drawing, having a nice home to live in, good food and fun stuff to do ❤️ I try and avoid negativity by searching for things I’m interested in to engage with, such as art, nature photography, cat photos, and videogames. Some websites let you tailor your feed to your liking!
- Comment on CHONKUS 1 month ago:
Chonkus sounds like the name of a videogame boss.
You beat the “chonky” cyanobacteria. You think you’re safe and you’re going to use all that EXP on upgrading your armor, then suddenly you’re greeted to a gigantic health bar which takes up the entire width of the screen, with the name “CHONKUS” above it.
