- Comment on How would an anarchist society work? 1 week ago:
The “archy” is definitely related to the idea of a top-level leadership/executive group that is set apart from the rest. Anarchy removes that executive privilege and parasitism.
For any society to function, there must be rules. Anarchy, in most forms, the community is the legislature and judiciary.
- Comment on Is cryptocurrency good for anything? 1 week ago:
You mean the same governments that manipulate their currency’s value?
Or in the case of the USA, a government that is spending so much that they’re basically insolvent?
- Comment on CNN set to cut employees this week as part of CEO Mark Thompson’s digital overhaul: report 1 week ago:
You don’t need journalists, editors, etc if you’re just going to use Grok, I guess.
- Comment on Is school cafeteria food in America trash? 2 weeks ago:
Schools are run by cities, counties, with oversight and regulations divided between every level, all the way to Federal.
There are minimum standards set for nutrition but many kinds of schools are exempt from providing meals or meeting the minimum.
Some schools go above and beyond, providing nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and snacks that the students can take home. Others, on the other hand, see it as a hassle and do the bare minimum.
Many US schools are misfunded, with many layers of unneeded bureaucracy and testing added, pulling resources away from the classroom and cafeteria.
- Comment on Jensen Huang says gamers are 'completely wrong' about DLSS 5 — Nvidia CEO responds to DLSS 5 backlash 2 weeks ago:
You think the Fallout 4 remaster would have done it as well.
I’m thinking we get AI-slopped remastered New Vegas and/or Fallout 3 next.

It’s easy - just listen to what Trump and most Congressional Republicans say about it. They parrot most of Russia’s talking points.

- Comment on Maggie Gyllenhaal Says ‘The Bride’ Test Screenings Criticized Film’s Sexual Violence and Warner Bros. Boss Told Her ‘You Can’t Have Frankenstein Lick Black Vomit Off the Bride’s Neck’ 4 weeks ago:
I went to see “Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die” a couple of weeks ago and all the trailers were for horror films. The trailer for “The Bride” was the best of them, but even that one left me feeling unenthusiastic by the end.
Add this to it and it’s feeling like they don’t feel the actual story is good enough. Sometimes leaving something to the imagination is far more powerful.
- Comment on Highguard will permanently shut down on March 12th. 4 weeks ago:
Highguard’s leadership and at least one of their former devs said they were making this game in order to line their pockets.
They really never mentioned wanting to make a great game because they love these type of games.
It was they want a bigger piece of the pie and these games generate lots of revenue.
- Comment on The Highguard Website Is Down As Players Brace For The Worst 1 month ago:
The whole thing was rigged to fail. There appears to have been almost zero outside input during the development. All the feedback they got were from internal sources or carefully vetted content creators - ones that rarely say anything bad about a game.
They created an echo fart-sniffing chamber.
They released a few updates almost right away which were received positively but it doesn’t appear that the company had the money to ride out a few months of poor microtransactions.
No open beta, no Early Access. They disappeared from social media right after the trailer dropped then, when they returned, all they did was whine.
Thousands of players quit and uninstalled before finishing the required tutorial.
I’m sure a lot of the creatives and devs are capable of creating great things. Management created an environment of groupthink, not of questioning and innovation.

Nah. It’ll be an online hero shooter.
- Comment on Australians banned social media. Now they are worried about teenagers going outside with e-bikes 1 month ago:
I agree with most of it.
If kids are acting out, it’s because they’re feeling powerless and/or unheard. So they banned social media. What did they replace it with? Did the government build public spaces meant for under-16s to gather and be social?
Golf courses are not a good thing, though. They are an absolute waste. The amount of water and chemicals used is atrocious.
- Comment on YouTube sponsorship starter pack 1 month ago:
This was put together by someone who doesn’t watch any sports channels. Completely missing all the sports betting sponsors like Fanduel and Underdog.

- Comment on Annotations for *Star Trek: Starfleet Academy* 1x03: “Vitus Reflux” 2 months ago:
Latin was my major - vita is life. Vitus doesn’t exist in Latin. I think they just made up a Latin-sounding word and ran with it.
- Comment on What's it going to take to truly stop the US? 2 months ago:
The US has directly captured or supported the overthrow of multiple heads of state. Nobody has ever done anything and they won’t now.
Too many Americans are actually supportive of this so there won’t be any major domestic repercussions. Maybe some hearings in Congress.
America is not going to fix itself. The corruption is built in. For the last 50 years (roughly), the system has been changed to make the people dumb and complacent; to make the President a puppet king who answers to the wealthy.
- Comment on After getting Silent Hill 'back on track,' Konami wants to make it an annual franchise 3 months ago:
Line must go up! Until the brain-dead who just buy annual releases without thought begin to pay attention, studios will continue to do this.
I’m still in shock that EA is not going to do an F1 26. They said they want to do better with the next one, so they’re skipping a year.

I was going to make a joke here but, damn, this is way too tragic.
The article didn’t mention if Kneeland had a history of depression. If he didn’t, they need to do an autopsy.
