- Comment on Realistically... How fucked is the US? 1 week ago:
He had pretty much that his first two years. Maybe not the judicial branch, totally. But, he had both chambers of congress. They could have done a lot but didn’t because of incompetence, a little dissent and fear of electoral reprisals.
Now, they’re more organized and possibly more unified behind the rat-fucking that’s planned.
If they move too fast they’ll lose the House in two years. If they slow boil, we’ll all be cooked before we know it.
- Comment on Why is the price of real estate rising so dramatically? 2 weeks ago:
Except the rapid real estate inflation started years before COVID. WFH may play a part but it’s hardly a major reason.

Maybe, because we can measure the number of protons and neutrons with an ion accelerator? I don’t know if the something similar can be done with electrons.

Both previous games definitely had MacOS ports or I’ve been hallucinating for hours in front of my computer monitor. They also had Switch and PlayStation ports.
- Comment on Subnautica 2 arrives in Early Access in 2025 with 4 player co-op 4 weeks ago:
Are MacOS and Linux ports confirmed? So far, it just says Xbox and (Windows) PC.
- Comment on 12 Years and $700 Million Later, What's Going on With Star Citizen's Development? 4 weeks ago:
That’s not how you calculate profit. Their revenue might exceed their costs so far but they have to keep spending. The game isn’t done and it costs money to just keep the lights on.
Look, I don’t know their financials. I’m just correcting what you claimed and pointing out what the article is claiming which is that their spending appears to be outpacing their revenue.
- Comment on 12 Years and $700 Million Later, What's Going on With Star Citizen's Development? 4 weeks ago:
As of 2022, according to its financials, the company has spent $637 million on development, with 2020 – 2022 averaging over $106 million a year. Assuming that the company continues spending around $100+ million a year, it doesn’t take a mathematician to realize that the $790 million raised so far at the time of writing is on the verge of, or has likely, run out.
No, the article is claiming $700M in development costs—based on $637M spent by 2022–and $790M raised. They’re speculating that the company is going to run out of money soon.

All catholic schools in the USA are private. That doesn’t meant the kids at them are privileged economically. There’s lots of working class families that scrounge and save to afford them and poor people that go tuition-free.
- Comment on A first look at Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt in The Electric State. Directed by the Russo Brothers. Coming 2025. 1 month ago:
I’m kind of tired of all these actors, especially in something with such a unique style. Let the story and robots stand out with some solid actors that aren’t in every other movie.

- Comment on Favoirte indepth youtube channels? 1 month ago:
I really like what they do but mostly find them unlistenable. If you don’t enjoy listening to people just chatting and making lots of—often bad—jokes in the middle of the narrative, this podcast is not for you.
If you don’t mind that, they do a great job of deep diving into the history of despicable people.
- Comment on I don't understand why underbaked borderline raw cookies are such a popular trend. 1 month ago:
It’s in the flour not the eggs. Eating raw flour is riskier than eating raw eggs.

You’d be better off just writing straight up fiction. Try short stories before diving into novels.
I suggest reading Kafka and Cortazar for more inspiration.

- Comment on Is Trump Made of Teflon? 2 months ago:
The media wants a fight because fights get ratings and $. It’s in their interest to make both candidates look equally good/bad. This makes them allergic to charges of bias which helps the shittier candidates.

Anything I’m missing?
I’ll make a few predictions based on the trailer and the most formulaic movies of the past couple decades (at least).
- Nerdy/not-nerdy white boy protagonist. Probably, neglected or misunderstood and teased for his interest in Minecraft
- Smart-ass girl who is mean to boy but will eventually support and encourage him. Likely to have a deep knowledge of some subject that will play a critical roll.
- Big, oafish man-child who lacks confidence but will learn he has value—probably through physical strength—that will save the team at some point.
- Hero who has lost faith and confidence in himself and has given up the cause. Will have his faith restored by the children and find the strength to defeat or help the boy defeat the bad guy.

In addition to the other points made, not nearly as many people use Lemmy so it’s not as much of a target for bots.
The alt-right/Trump content on sites like Reddit and Twitter is amplified out of proportion by bots.

I mean, just eat the occasional cookie. Don’t worry about the macros in it. Tracking macros is never going to be precise but you can get a general idea if you’re getting the right amounts. But, if you’re getting most or a lot of your nutrition from processed food, you’re probably tracking the wrong thing.
- Comment on Making healthier choices 5 months ago:
If you’re so nutritionally conscious as to track macros, why are you eating processed food?
