Learning how to obey the AI? Learning to recognize AI hallucinations from when the AI is just plain wrong? Learning how to put your classmates’ faces on porn?
That’s at least a quarter to a semester of material.

They’re all experts on education and psychology, too, I’m sure. And they’re not at all motivated solely by greed and avarice.
- Comment on Are we all suffering from "future shock" in 2025? 1 week ago:
Does ChatGPT incorrectly put spaces around the em dash, too? There should be no spaces around an em dash—that’s a clue that implies a human writer.
And, em dashes and en dashes are great—they should be used more often.
- Comment on Are we all suffering from "future shock" in 2025? 1 week ago:
Future Shock isn’t about the 70s or any decade being “better.” It’s about the effects of rapidly changing technology not that technology shouldn’t change.
- Comment on Consumers make their voices heard as Microsoft's huge venture flatlines in popularity 1 week ago:
This kind of thing makes me lose hope for humanity—the tendency for psychopaths to rise in power. Maybe that actually helped us advance to a point but it’ll definitely hold us back from evolving to something more equitable for all.
- Comment on If I snapped you back in time 650 years right this very second, how would you use your current knowledge to succeed? 1 week ago:
Yes. I’d have to learn their language first, anyway. I already know bits of modern versions but not much. Then, introduce the warning of invasions and teach them English with the caution that people speaking groups of people speaking will bring death and destruction.
It’s not like they’ll already have a fear of English or any concept of the language before I teach it to them.
- Comment on If I snapped you back in time 650 years right this very second, how would you use your current knowledge to succeed? 1 week ago:
Do my best to warn the locals of the coming invasion. Learn their language and teach them English and tell them not to trust any group of strangers who speak it.
Help improve their technology as best I can. I’m not sure how much I’d be able to improve it. At least, teach them to wear masks and wash their hands when around sick people.

They will definitely ask if you purchased anything. You can lie but if you get caught expect little to no leniency.
Can you get away with it? Probably, for some stuff. Is it worth it? You’re rolling some dice, you decide.
- Comment on What would the world look like if every worker got together and Unionized for a universale wage that helps everyone? Instead of one country trying to screw over another? 2 weeks ago:
It’s almost impossible to tell or coordinate.
What currency is the universal wage in? USD? EUR? CNY?
Is it the same everywhere? Do you adjust for purchasing power? How?
What you’re suggesting requires global cooperation on a scale that is inconceivable today. Nations would have to give up economic power in ways that no one would do today. You’d need a global government. We are nowhere near that and probably won’t ever be unless an extraterrestrial threat exists.

Stop spending so much time on it.
- Comment on Apple TV+ Comedy 'Mythic Quest' Canceled 3 weeks ago:
It was… OK… I guess. It wasn’t IASIP, which is fine. But, the characters were unlikable in a not terribly funny way. The tech aspects were all off enough that the audience that would be drawn to a WoW developer drama should cringe.
I haven’t gotten through the first two seasons, even. There were some interesting storylines but it didn’t seem well thought out.
- Comment on ‘Saturday Night Live’ Sets U.K. Edition, Launching on Sky in 2026 4 weeks ago:
Every franchise dilutes the value of the brand. There’s rarely a good reason for this beyond “make more money.”
Sometimes, it works. The Office is a good example but it was a situation comedy re-contextualized for a different audience that wasn’t aware of the original.
A sketch comedy show can’t be treated the same way. You can’t transliterate the characters and jokes. So, it’s just going to be a format carbon copy with the name slapped on for no reason other than it’s recognizable. And, that means the name is expected to do some heavy lifting which doesn’t bode well.

Pegg has already played Scotty, what, three times?
He’s pitched Frost as Harry Mudd.

They were also both known for serious roles but are good at playing comedy straight.

- Comment on where can i find people who are looking for friends to talk about life, goals, achievements, failures, ideas, problems? 1 month ago:
Sus. Don’t trust random people on the internet.
There’s an old internet adage from the early days: “Don’t trust you can’t punch in the face.”
This isn’t paranoid. It’s basic safety. Talking about personal stuff to people you don’t know irl is inherently risky.
If you’re in need of a confidant, find someone you know in real life who’s trust you can verify or a professional.

- Comment on Was Donald Trump ever cool? 1 month ago:
Yep. And he was kind of a hanger-on with the elite and famous but was mostly rejected by them. A lot of his shitty behavior probably stems from being rejected and being bad at business to the point that he went to the Russians for loans and got compromised.

- Comment on Is there any negative consequence to wearing socks inside out? 1 month ago:
Depends on the sock but some are designed to wick moisture away from the foot and evaporate on the outside.
Turning them inside out is going keep the moisture close to the foot. This will cause problems—sores, smells, etc.

- Comment on First Image of Matt Damon as Odysseus in Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' 2 months ago:
I like Matt Damon as an actor, generally. But, I just don’t see him as Odysseus. His voice, demeanor and look just don’t fit. I feel like this is more to throw a famous actor in the title role to draw crowds.
The character is bigger than any actor. It’d be great to see an unknown/lesser known actor in the role.
