  As others have said and how I always see it:

  • Discs are small, circular, flat objects, e.g. the discus;
  • Disks are discs used for computer stuff, e.g. floppy disk(ettes), CD-ROMs, DVD-ROMs, hard disks, and so forth…

  In other words, all disks are discs, but not all discs are disks.

  In any case, I wasn’t even bitching about. I was expressing a very mild annoyance. If I were bitching, I would have used caps or bold or italics or even straight-up insulted him.

  I did none of these things. Compared to when people actually bitch about things, I was relatively mild with my initial comment.
